I am glad to see this site has been set up as an alternative, and I would like to thank V_Falcons for risking the gong over at JJ to send out the address. Anyhow, let's see if my first post can add substance to the Heath/Ironton thread.

1) This game comes down to each team stopping the opponent's running game, or more accurately slowing down the rushing attack. I think both teams can score on the opposing defense.

2) The 3-3-5 that Heath runs can easily be adapted into a scheme that puts 8/9 in the box. My worry is that this simple change isn't made.

3) Heath's offense is a running offense, and I think they will get their yards against Ironton's tough defense. However, if necessary, Benner(Heath's QB) can sling the ball around the yard. He is an underrated QB, as he doesn't get nearly enough credit for his role in the offense. I think he could defintely be the X factor.

4) I also hear that Ironton plays many on both sides of the ball. Heath has very little of this, and more of a platoon system. If the game is close, this could be a factor.

Putting my feelings towards both teams after watching both teams this one should not be close.

Ironton is big, strong and very physical much like the dominating Licking Valley teams that Heath has not faired too well against.

Ironton has six backs if not more to run right behind that big, nasty line and they rotate more lineman than some seem to think.

What I like most is how they, Ironton can throw the little screen pass and the way they set it up.

I see the Fighting Tigers winning by three scores if not more.

I'll say Ironton 35 Heath 21. I just can't see Heath stopping that running game.

I agree and thanks for not turning this into one of the free for all's I am usually getting into with so many.

I am really going to try to stay away from that stuff unless I am attacked first(LOL)

Back to Heath you guys are better than I thought you were going to be this season and the big three players are all very good.

The QB and two backs.

I have not seen Ironton play this year only in 2000 and they were big and physical in that game against Licking Valley but came up short against a much smaller but faster team and recalling the 2000 LV team they sis not have near the speed that heath has on both sides of the ball, but I cant say that heath is as hard nosed as that LV team was. I do not like to predict on teams I have not seen so will end with this. Who ever wins this game will deserve to move on.

Best of luck to the DOGS, hopefully will see more SPORTSMANSHIP than we did with Zane Trace!!!

Let's see.............Licking County vs Lawerence County...............

Ironton.....big, mean, nasty line.........stable of running backs.........quaterback with a good head on his shoulders

Heath......honestly don't know much about them........don't cross that I-70/Dixon line much........

From what I know......

Ironton 35
Heath ??

Both teams have earned their way into this game. It should be a great game and I know you have heard this a hundred times but this is the way it is. The one with the most turnovers loses. Still I have to pull for my Fighting Tigers.

Go Tigers!

I'll be there.
I've seen Ironton play twice this year. They're absolutely nasty up front on both sides of the ball and well, well coached.
They do struggled a little bit with the pass, but I think they're good enough to pull this one out by two scores.

Should be a pretty good game ,both offense kind of cancel each other out therefore whom evers defense can come up with enough stops or TO's will be moving on. Special team will also be a factor as both will want to force each other into sustaining long drives. Should be a dandy and best of luck to both on an injury free game....

Looks like to me that they have the same records, right? (9-2) ... hmmm.. Stats aren't the same though, are they? Ironton has had more playoff experience.. who cares? I say Heath takes this one!

No doubt..3 scores? Not against this Tiger team. They gave my Chieftains a run for their money...I just can't see Heath beating them by that much IF they beat them at all.

Against Zane Trace they looked like the Steelers. How close was the game with Logan? I'll be pulling for Heath, I'm a Sheridan alum, I'm required to route against Ironton.
