Had my first beer when I was pretty young. Mom and Dad used to have a bar in the basement with a keg of beer always on tap.

The first time I tried it where I really knew what I was drinking I think I was in 7th or 8th grade (probably around 13 years old).

My mom claims my dad gave me sips here and there when I was a toddler, but I think I was around 15 when I had my first full beer.

I was born in Milwaukee in '71. Pretty sure I had Schlitz in my sippy cup about the time I was walking.

Why?
I don't like the smell of either of them.

My parents have plenty of pics of me as a toddler swigging a drink of beer. However, my first beer I can recall was when I went fishing with my dad and uncle when I was eight. We went out on the Lake on a hot summer day. They packed a cooler full of beer but forgot to pack any refreshments for me. Since it was so hot, they figured it would be best I drink some of the PBR they packed instead of going thirsty.

I think I threw back three or four that day. When I came home three sheets to the wind my mom and aunt let them have it.

I lived with my grandparent for a few years
Grandpa would make Home Brew and Daygo Red
I remember helping him bottle the Home Brew and after we where done enjoy a cold one..( I would get a half a glass) I was 8 or 9 years old.
The Daygo Red now he would only let me have one shot...that it only one.
Sometime around 14 or 15 he and I would have a little more together.

Ten. Dad let me have a small glass of Weidemann (which he drank because they sponsored the Reds' broadcasts). I think he figured it would cure me from liking beer - if so, it certainly backfired.

I was allowed to have two or three a week under parental supervision as a teenager in certain circumstances (at home after a day of baling hay, helping paint the house, etc.) - it certainly taught me how to handle drinking responsibly, and took away a lot of the "forbidden fruit" aspect of alcohol.

I can remember my grandpa letting me have swigs of his Old Mil. when I was younger. First time I drank to get drunk was summer going into freshman year of H.S. Drank a lot the first couple years of h.s. then never much after that I was partying with the juniors and seniors then. By the time my fellow classmates started drinking wasn't really liking it that much anymore. To this day can't really drink beer, will drink some liquor here and there though.

I think I was 15, maybe? It was the summer after my Freshman year and we were camping out in my friend's back yard. I'm not even really sure what it was.

Seemed like a big moment at the time, doesn't seem like much of one now.

My bro got me drunk when I was 9. Crashed my bike on a huge hill and got stitches in my foot, I think this is after he gave me wad of chew which I puked on.

I don't remember how old I was. Maybe 8 or 9? I asked my dad for a sip of his Corona. I was also around the same age when I asked him for some whiskey and he gave me like a half of a shot. I starting drinking full time in high school at good old Rhodes High School when I was 15. I remember the good old days of showing up at school half wasted and heading right to the wood shop and sleeping in the back while the teacher had classes going on the other side of the room.
