You shouldn't have to belong to a nice club to practice proper etiquette, especially in a sport such as golf.ernest_t_bass wrote: I guess my argument is this. it doesn't have to be a higher up golf club.. if you're at a range where you hit off of grass and they rotate tee boxes to repair the ground, you need to follow etiquette... whether its a country club or a muni course.ernest_t_bass wrote: I guess my argument is this. I don't think a lot of people know that about taking divots at ranges, that's why they don't do it.
I belong to a country club back home in Youngstown, and I can tell you that even though the people that are members there are pretty wealthy and know etiquette, they don't know how to properly divots on the range, the only person I've seen take them properly are the club pros and my friends dad who has been club champion something like 13 times.

But yeah, it's definitely not something to complain about, no offense Zwick, just because it's something that people don't even know.
Hell, if I didn't bug the hell outta the club pros everytime I saw them on the range the same time as me, I never would have known that you're supposed to put the ball right behind the divot.
Another thing is, people assume that they HAVE to hit off a fresh piece of grass with no divots around in order to maximize their range session, oh well.
Like I said, nothing to be too upset about, even when I'm in a spot where other people have been I can't remember the last time they absolutely wasn't any clean spots to use.
