He is undersized for a center at 6'8" or 6'9". He's slow, which will definitely shine through once he gets to OSU.

Great in HS, I am not saying he isn't. But in BIG TIME college basketball, IMO he won't be great like everyone thinks.

Now by flop, I don't mean he will suck and ride the pine. He will be a good player for OSU, but I just don't think he is going to pan out like everyone thinks he will.

It's funny that for the last few years people were ready for this recruiting class, now all of sudden they're not capable of making a run? Next year Ohio State will have a combination of youth and experience. Kind of similar to 2007 with Oden, Conley, and Cook getting help from the veterans Lewis, Butler, and Harris. The 4 starters returning will have a ton of experience and will be better. Add them with the top recruiting class, I say they are a elite 8 team at worse.

I'll agree with this. BUT, almost ALL teams that make deep runs, make final four, win it all...have had solid to great PG. It is the single most important position to competing with the top of the top. I'll take great guard play over big time post play any day of the week. Good/great guards will always keep you in a game.
This is what worries me about Turner leaving, which I think is about a done deal. With Turner, this team is top 3, maybe #1 preseason in country.
Without Turner, I think they are top 20 team. If Craft comes in, and can hold down the fort, run the offense, etc, etc....they could be top 10. OSU won't need a PG for scoring with the experience they have, and the talent coming in. They just need someone to handle the rock, run the offense. I honestly believe Craft will be ok once he gets some games under his belt.

Wildcats...I won't go near as far as saying Sully will be a flop. He is a bit slow on the foot speed...this I will agree with. I don't expect him to explode on the scene as others do (Dynasty). I think he will be very solid next year, then explode to the scene as a soph as other leave. His foot speed will get better with the personal training he will get at OSU. He already has the stength and is pretty well skilled. He is the perfect power forward, with the capabilities to step out a little bit and knock down shots. The guy has been competing against the TOP of the TOP HS players in the country, and has basically dominated all he has gone against. College is a completely differently level...but I feel he will adjust. But I do believe it will take him some adjustment time along with some more developmen before he really shines. This is why I have said he will be at OSU at least 3yrs, maybe even all 4.

I agree. i do think "flop" was the wrong choice of words though. Buckeye fans, as I am, expect him to come right in and put up Clark Kellogg numbers. Many think he is a sure fire starter as a freshman, I dont see it. I see more of a Treg Lee type career. He is a great HS player dominating bc of his size and weight. He might need to drop some weight next year for one. Good Luck to him, Im just not sold.

I think they can compete for a Big Ten title, but it's kind of too early to tell how the new recruiting class will impact the team.

You guys say he is too slow. Then why does he dominate all the other top center prospects in his class? Like Thompson, Smith, and Tyler; the ones who he will be playing against because they are good enough to start at the next level. It's not like he hasn't faced good enough competition in high school. He's played against all the top prospects who are better than a lot of the current college big men, and he dominates them.

He'll be a 2-3 year guy at OSU.

Don't make it sound like there are a bunch of unrealistic OSU fans out there in regards to Sully, because it really isn't the case...most of us are more rational than that.

I for one think he'll come in and produce immediately. The offense will run through his hands next year, and if Koufos can average 14 and 7, I see Sullinger bettering that.

The thing with big guys at the HS level is that they don't always pass the "eye test" because they are so much bigger than everyone else they look slower and people expect too much out of them. Once he gets another 6'10" guy guarding him, he'll look like the better athlete. There are not many good post players in college basketball because they all leave after one year. I think Sullinger is the best big man in the Big 10 next year.

And he's not a guy that is going to be shell shocked by the college game. He grew up with two older brothers who were D1 athletes. He's played at the highest level in the AAU circuit. His dad is his coach and will have him better prepared. He's been playing at OSU open gyms for several years now. He's not your ordinary college freshman.

How tall was Tyler Hansbrough at UNC? 6'9 or something like that? Dallas Lauderdale is 6'8'-6'9 and he hasn't done that bad of a job at the defensive end for OSU...I think when Sully gets to OSU, Matta will have him ready to work and he'll be fine. The PG situation for next year is still something up in the air that I wonder about
