Does anyone remember the beer that came in the white can and said "beer" on the can in black letters? I think it may have been a Kroger product but I'm not really sure. Anyway, it was God awful but in those days it served it's purpose, particularly if pay day was still a few days away. Sometimes one has to compromise his expectations in the interest of economic responsibility.

I don't see it often anymore, but I do proudly sport a hat with the logo on a daily basis = Blatz.

I do remember that "beer". I was too young to taste test it though.

Yeah, I see it every once in awhile when I travel. I live in a small, rural area so it may not make it here like it does other places. I've never seen anyone actually drink it other than my parents when I was about eight years old.....oh, and then me just to say I did (not when I was eight). Not good by any stretch of the imagination.

I've actually had some lately. It's much better than it used to be now that Christian Moerlein has brought it back.

Oh my...this brings back some ugly memories too...

And the white cans that said "beer" were just that... they were generic BEER, as we went through a period of generic everything in the late 70's/early 80's. Had a good friend in college who drank that stuff all the time... <bends over and barfs>
