The perception is that the teams west coast teams are weak. That means the west regional should be the easiest and the team selected to go west will have the easiest path to the Final Four. Should the top 4 teams be allowed to pick their region? Overall #1 gets the first pick. That sure would add some drama to the evening.

Pick? No.

Draw from four? maybe

No that would still mean a pick lol

Since it's an NCAA sponsored tourny I think they would have to keep it as is and keep the circus atmosphere to a minimum as much as possible.

Actually, I think it would be awesome for the committee to seed the teams and then let the coaches pick their own poison.Coaches know their teams and which matchups might be the most favorable.

The problem is, Syracuse not being able to play in the East and Kansas getting the Midwest pretty much does the picking for them. Kentucky is going to be the one that loses. Despite being the #2 overall seed, they will get stuck in Syracuse, unless the Orange get shipped out West.

.

Let all of the coaches pick after the #1's have been placed in their respective regions. The best #2 could pick a region in which his team would have the best chance and so on.....

I think it'd be sweet do it like they do the district draw here in Ohio, seed everybody and then you get to place yourself on the bracket

and if you implimented the rules the same, where you could pass as you saw fit, I think you'd see some real drama on selection day, with people passing and passing to try and create favorable matchups for their club

I agree with ytown football, I'd rather the circus events remain at carnivals.

The selection show has enough drama. As does the NCAA Tournament, Jim Boeheim. (Although, I can't just blame him; Coach K now has turned his thought on the subject and wants the expansion. Ugh.)

Keep tellin' em, Bob Knight.

There is very little drama on the selection show. Joe Lunardi and people like him took the drama away.

It would be awesome to and the coaches couldn't bitch about their location or opponent.

Ohio State wouldn't be in Kansas region if Matta had been able to pick his own slot.

OSU was the last #2, weren't they?

That would mean they probably would have no choice BUT to be in Kansas' bracket, as none of the other 2s would wanna be in Kansas' region.

I don't know. If they were, they were underseeded.

Who is to say that K-State wouldn't have chosen to play Kansas. They have played them tough and their coach seems like the kind of guy who would want to get some revenge.

Ehhh, you're stretching that...no way would a team that lost at home, on the road (crushed), and on a neutral floor (beat soundly) want to play that team for the 4th time haha

I'm just giving a possible scenario and using K-State as an example.

I've read that OSU was the 3nd ranked number 2 and was placed in this region because of procedural issues.
