LOL at 8-1 with Jamison. What is the record w/out Jamison? Verajou's double double was far more impressive. The Cavaliers are NO BETTER with his addition. In fact, power rating wise, they are a tad worse.

I love coach Brown...but he needs to figure it out. Jamison logging those kind of minutes is a mistake. He plays more than Anderson. Get it together coach. You don't have to play the higher paid players more...just because he's the higher paid player.

And another LOL at citing Jamison's "anomalie" at the line....but shooting above his career numbers from the field is just "Jamison playing well".

The guys who have stepped up...Mo and DeLonte. And love Powe. Lock down defense...and a good free throw shooter when hacked down low.

Nobody believes the Cavs are much improved from last year--they all just want to believe it'll end the same way. That's fine, I like being able to have the best record and still fly under the radar.
The Cavs are no better this year over last. In both years, they were the best in the NBA.

Orlando pulled off a shocking uposet. It's really that simple.

Hopefully, this year, the best team will win it all.

I understand what you're saying, but the roster is better this year from top to bottom.

The Cavs have played without Z, Shaq, Delonte, Mo on and off the whole season and have the "same" record...

But they aren't any better?

That just doesn't add up, sorry.

That just doesn't add up, sorry.
They played last year with just as many injuries. The names have changed, but last year's team was a little better statistically.

Last year's team was about 2 points better per game, and their season record overall was better.

The best team doesn't always win. Cavs have about the same chance as last year's team to win it all...and it has nothing to do with who was added and who was deleted from the roster.

If Cav fans want to think that this year's team is somehow better, have at it.

Most will also say that the 96 Indians were better than the 95 Indians. Same debate...hopefully, different results.

The Cavs will win it all...if they play as well during the tournament, as they played during the regular season.

Last year, Mo and DeLonte played poorly against Orlando. Orlando elevated their game and won 2 games on last second shots. That is why the Cavs lost.

You could make a valid argument for him as 6th man. The proof he's eaning his keep lies in the oposition talking about him, essentially getting in their head from the bench before the game.

I was the opposite and said pay the man and he hasn't made me look stupid yet. He's been a good player for a few years now. IF, and it's a big IF, LeBron goes on a Jordan like run with the Cavs for 5-6 rings--Anderson Varejao will be a HOFer. Won't take long for someone to laugh at that--but if that happens, you'll see.

There are plenty of players in the HOF that weren't near as good as Pippen.

If the core of LeBron, Mo and Andy stick together and IF (remember, I do consider this a huge IF, I don't expect it to happen--league is way deeper and more competitive) they make a run like the Bulls did, they'll all be HOFers.

Still have to go through the off-season, but you could be right assuming a lot of course.

I think since LBJ idolizes MJ, he will stay a Cav and lobby for his "boys" to stick around. Those three and possibly JJ.

If LBJ wants to follow in MJ's footsteps, he will be playing for the Akron Aeros next year.

Yeah, I think JJ has worked his way into that group. Even Delonte as well. I mean it's clearly based on them winning championships--which goes a long way towards getting into the HOF. So we'll see, I'd be happy with one for now. :)

Just trying to explain how good I think Andy really is.

Yeah, he was right to hold out, don't argue that. I'm saying were he on another team other than the Cavs I would probably not be able to stand him.

So if he ends up someplace else, I'll need a reason to hope he sucks and to forget what good things he did for the Cavs, and holding out will be my crutch. ;)

Don't worry. Without LeBron, Andy wouldn't be the same player is he is Cleveland. He'd still be decent, but not as good.

I agree with that. He wouldnt be the same on the offensive end of the floor but he would be the same guy on the defensive end and thats where he is most valuable

Agreed. I was also a member of the "pay the man" club regarding AV. 30 years ago, the Celtics were winning rings with people like Cedrick "Cornbread" Maxwell and Paul Silas. These were nothing more than grunts....who cleaned up all the garbage....just as Verajou does.

Last year, i got jumped on these boards for citing similarities between Anderson V. and Rodman. Well, AV does some things a lot better than Rodman ever did.

People like AV, DeLonte and Mo lead me to believe that even without LBJ, this team would win 45 to 48 games.

The same can be said of the 90's Bulls. The year or 2 that MJ did not play, the Bulls won close to 50 games.
