We can speculate all we want, the final decision is in the hands of the coaches.

Bauman is only 106 yards from 1,000 and already has rushed for 12 touchdowns. Passing wise, he is 82-138 (59.4%) with 1,494 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions. I don't know of anyone else in the league who has had a hand in 29 of his teams touchdowns. And those are only his offensive stats!!! IMO, Bauman should be a runaway for MVP even if Rittman isn't the best team in the league. If they win tomorrow that puts them at 6-4, 4-3 in the WCAL and a 3rd or 4th place finish

I'll play Devils advocate here and give a little food for thought.....

Lets look at the records of each of the WCAL teams combined out of conference opponents (thru week 9)...
Northwestern...19-8
Norwayne...18-9
Smithville...16-11
Waynedale...16-11
Hillsdale...12-18
Dalton...11-16
Chippewa...9-18
Rittman...6-21

Brandon Bauman is a tremendous athlete and I'm not looking to discredit him in any way shape or form, he deserves any accolades he receives. I'm simply asking the question--Should quality of opposition be taken into account?
What kind of stats would Fulk, Wallace, Blevins or Hackett put up against the likes of Brookside & Conotton Valley and vica versa--What would Baumans stats be like had he gone up against a Western Reserve, Mogadore, Triway or St.Johns caliber team? Or even a team like Garaway? Maybe they would be close to the same, I don't know...like I said I'm not putting him down-he is a great player.
What I am saying is Rittman has played by far the easiest schedule in the WCAL. Of the 5 teams they have defeated, those teams have a combined total of 6 victories. Picking a player based solely on stats can be a 2 way street.

That being said....Good luck to all the kids in the WCAL, and to whoever wins, there will always be someone else who was just as deserving that didn't get it because theres only 1 award.

(except at Triway....Where Everybody gets a Trophy!!!!!.......I know, low blow, just kiddin' Titan Fans)

Make up your mind already, early in your post you reference Triway as a more solid opponent for WCAL teams, and at the end you bash them. Hardware is hardware my friend. LOL

Good luck to all WCAL teams this week and beyond (for those who play next week.)

Oh, and Go Huskies.

Passing and rushing yards are hard to get when your small up front. Even harder against the WCAL teams, Bauman has kept his stats up well all season.

Ok....enough MVP talk.. Who will win between the Falcons and Bobcats tonight. Choose a winner and the score, will be fun to see the predictions. I'll take HHS 35-22.

Yes Hillsdale won 21-14 great game. Hats off to the Bobcats, they gave us all we could handle. Class act all the way by the Bobcats team and staff to congratulate the Falcons after the game on their first ever WCAL title. I think Northwestern beat Rittman...if so congrats to the
Huskies on a big win!

Looks like all 3 WCAL playoff teams are the road. Here are the matchups:

(5) Norwayne @ (4) Columbiana Crestview
(7) Hillsdale @ (2) Collins Western Reserve
(8) Dalton @ (1) Bucyrus Wynford

Good Luck WCAL teams!

Way to finish Falcons....You did it, Congrats!!!!!! Now there are 7 other teams who have a longer championship dryspell than you!! Thats gotta feel good.

Also, kudos to the Bobcats. Down 14-0 on the road in the cold-yet refused to throw in the towel and gave the Falcons a real test.

It was great to see a competitive week 10 championship game, I thought the crowd would be larger but then again it was friggin' cold last night, poor Mr Miyagi almost froze his eggrolls off.

On to the playoffs...
Hopefully Hillsdale gets Western Reserve, a much better opening option than Archbold, Tinora or Patrick Henry. The Falcon kicker has plenty of practice with the squib kick, it will come in handy against WR, they have a kid who is a big time punt & kick return threat. The Roughriders are a good team (7 or 8 pt win over Norwayne) but the Falcons have the size, speed & talent to take WR down.

I've seen Wynford on Mansfield 68TV a couple times this year. They are tough. Tall order for Dalton. Good luck Dawgs!

Columbiana Crestview has probably knocked more WCAL teams out of the playoffs than any other team. However, the WCAL does return the favor every once in a while, Norwayne should be a worthy opponent. Go Cats!
