+1 on Fargo.

Blood Simple was a great flick as well and is considered by many to be one of their best works.

I'm sure what ever is the best movie has Frances McDormand in it.

Man, first Tarantino and now Coen Bros.! Yay! They're just flat-out awesome film makers. I went with The Big Lebowski for sentimental reasons...but, I had to think hard about Raising Arizona. The premise and everything about that movie is just hilarious. Plus, Fargo can't be messed with, and shit..I could go on and on. Awesome movies.

That is why I think this question is much harder for the coen bros than any other film maker, because the amount of quality movies they have made is so high and they are all so different it is hard to pick one.

Watched Fargo a couple nights ago, and thought it was terrible for some reason. I am a huge fan of the Coen Brothers and have liked all the movies I have seen of theirs. But that movie honestly didn't do it for me. I dunno, maybe I'll have to see it again to appreciate it, I thought Francis Mcdormand's character was annoying as shit.

hmm there are still a number of films I haven't seen, including A Serious Man. But out of the ones I have seen I'd probably go with The Big Lebowski as my top choice, followed by No Country.

Another good one not mentioned is Miller's Crossing

good poll...I was actually thinking of that one when I posted the Tarantino one...

I agree, a harder call.

I went with Fargo...the dialogue and timing is fantastic.

O Brother...is a close second.

This is a very tough poll lol. I've never watched Ladykillers, Serious Man, Man Who Wasn't There, or Big Lebowski. I have Lebowski on my Netflix list though. I really enjoyed No Country, O Brother, Raising Arizona, and Fargo. Burn After Reading wasn't bad.

Best part of the movie is John Turturro "Nobody fucks wit da Jesus!"

Miller's Crossing is probably my favorite, but O Brother & Lebowski are very close.
I bucket their movies into four categories- Great, Almost Great, Good & Ladykillers (crap):

Great- O Brother Where Art Thou, Miller's Crossing, Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country for Old Men

Almost Great- Barton Fink, Raising Arizona, Blood Simple

Good- The Man Who Wasn't There, Serious Man, Burn After Reading, Intolerable Cruelty, Hudsucker Proxy

Utter Crap (mainly due to Tom Hanks)- Lady Killers
