Still don't care what ANYBODY says...in that Cincy game, Chudzinski (the O-Coordinator) fucked the Browns getting pass happy (40+ attempts) in 40+ mph winds. I'm not going to make excuses for DA's cluster fucks against Oakland & Arizona but I give him a pass in that Cincy game. Jamal Lewis should have had 35-40 carries in that game and I don't think he even had 15.

Derek is now apologizing for this rant about Cleveland fans.
Apparently, his agent or someone with the common sense Derek so obviously lacks, must have told him to take a huge chill pill and not come across as a giant pussy.
"I said some things to Jeff Schudel earlier that I regret. Those of you who got to know me personally from covering the Browns over the past five years, know this was out of character for me. I wasn't taken out of context, but I was speaking out of frustration after my career with the Browns come to a close. I had some great times playing in Cleveland, especially during the 2007 season, and I met some great people and made many lifelong friends along the way. I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life."
Well, Derek, I forgive you for being a total ass.
Just as I forgive you for being one of the dumbest, most inefficient QBs I've seen in 40 years of watching the NFL.

He HAD to do this. With 32 teams in the league and with the Browns history of QB injuries, why make yourself available to only 31? Not saying he'll ever come back here but no sense burning bridges.Writerbuckeye wrote: Derek is now apologizing for this rant about Cleveland fans.

Ummm, what would that be? Have a good QB and a good defense or an average QB and one of the all-time greatest defenses? Exactly where does Anderson fit into any of this? He doesn't have what it takes to be a winning QB in this league. Why can't you see that? Do you need six more years of him bumbling around the NFL to see that because I don't see that happening.SQ_Crazies wrote: I mean really guys, have you learned nothing from the Ravens, Steelers and now the BUNGALS?!

I haven't mentioned anything on this yet so I will throw in my 2 cents. Anderson was dumb for saying what he did and he realized that, hence why he apologized. Was he wrong to say it? Not at all! I love Cleveland and its fans but a large majority of them are completely ignorant assholes who really don't understand the game. These people wanted Brady Quinn to play so badly that they didn't even support a pro bowl QB! A freaking PRO BOWL QB! That doesn't happen in Cleveland often! Instead they wanted the "local" Brady Quinn who has proven to be a bust!
To boo an injured player just to see their "savior" play is completely idiotic.

I have to agree somewhat with the play calling argument. This past season the Browns really ran two different offenses. One when DA was in and a different one when BQ was in. BQ seemed to have a more accurate arm at intermediate distances. DA could hit the flats and the long ball.
Compring the two QB's numbers isn't necessarily an apples to oranges comparison. DA's starts didn't feature a solid running attack to off set his passing. When BQ got his starts there was more balance in the play calling.
Good news Brown's fans there is a new sheriff in town.

Did you just call another Brown's fan a typical Brown's fan?SQ_Crazies wrote: No deal, I don't care what you do with your avatar.
Typical Browns fan, doesn't even know who to blame when his team loses so it's always the QB's fault.
That's some funny shit.

That's funny. I am not either, I just enjoy an intelligent football conversation and this thread is providing that. All the other ones seem to turn into name calling exchanges and smack talking.

That's because around here they're either Browns threads (dumb fan base) or Steelers threads (arrogant fan base) or Bengals threads (a mix of both with no reason for arrogance). Or they're a mix of both, which is bad no matter how you mix them up.

All fan bases have their quirks I suppose. It is just finding one that is more tolerable I suppose.

It's a good thing that Philly has 3 quarterbacks because if DA went there, I'd hate to see his reactions to how Philly fans would treat him.
Stay classy Anderson...

A statement that I posted earlier was false. I said that you "NEVER.....NEVER cheer a player that gets injured"......unless it's
Hines Ward or Ray Lewis

Would want no part of Braylon or Lewis. Wouldn't have had a problem with Ward in his prime.THE4RINGZ wrote:So what you are saying is if those bitches played for the Brown's they would be good solid players?BR1986FB wrote: Nah, Braylon's just a bitch. Ward & Lewis are "talented" bitches.

Does he really think fans were cheering because he got injured? From what I've seen, when a player goes down, and then is helped off the field in any matter, the crowd usually cheers to show their support.
Also, I think the situation was worse because Browns fans wanted to see Quinn in action, and he turned out to be even worse than what we had before. Hopefully they dump Quinn and draft a QB in the later rounds, go into the season with Wallace and Ratliff, and groom the drafted QB for the future.

But Derek Anderson made the Pro Bowl!! Yeah? Vince Young did last year too. How did Anderson do in this game that is set up strictly for offense? 16-26 for 103 yards and a pick.

People call him a Pro Bowl QB but that's hilarious and not all that factual if you REALLY look at how he got to Hawaii.
It wasn't like he was the first QB who was selected to represent the AFC. He kind of got there by default.
Oh and ANYONE who calls (put fan base here) dumb in a broad generalization is simply ignorant or biased. You can't possibly make such a sweeping generalization about millions of people -- unless of course you're a liberal.
They do it all the time about folks who live in Red states.

Regardless some team will pick him up and he will be a servicable qb for that team. Will he win the Super Bowl for someone? Who knows, stranger things have happened.

Cleveland fans love and support players that do well. Josh Cribbs constantly writes on his twitter page that Cleveland has the best fans. Cleveland fans were calling for him to get a new contract because he is actually good. Bernie Kosar is forever a deity in this town. It'd be one thing if D.A. was only "not good" as opposed to absolutely atrocious. When you suck that bad you will be booed.
