overlooked, underappreciated...
taken for granted...?
His music was the soundtrack for high school and college kids in the 70's and 80's.
one of the most talented grass-roots middle American rockers;
when you look at the number of his songs that have been covered and used for commercial endorsements; thousands of kids today hear "Like a Rock" and have no idea where it came from.
Hail Seger.

One positive thing about Detroit. (Not really....there are more but it does give Detroit folks a sense of pride and ownership when it's sometimes hard to find .)

I love Bob Seger, his music is great stuff thats fun to sing along to and good for the soul...
Seems like yesterday, but it was long ago,
Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights,
There in the darkness with the radio, playin' low and,
the secrets that we shared, mountains that we moved,
crawlin' like a wild fire out of control, till there was nothin left to burn and nothin' left to prove....

I guess like a lot of people his music just kind of disappeared in my mind. I forgot about some of his stuff. IMO his more commercial stuff overshadowed the great music he really made before he became really popular.

Applause! I grew up to Bob Seger (living about 10 miles from Ann Arbor) and he was the soundtrack for our lives. My brother saw him in a bar in A2 right before Beautiful Loser came out. I love Bob Seger!

You'll Accompany Me
"A gypsy wind is blowing warm tonight
The sky is starlit and the time is right
And still you're tellin' me you have to go
Before you leave there's something you should know
Yeah something you should know babe"
.................................
Shame On The Moon
"Once inside a woman's heart
A man must keep his head
Heaven opens up the door
Where angels fear to tread
Some men go crazy
Some men go slow
Some men go just where they want
Some men never go"

One song I've always totally digged is "The Fire Inside", unfortunately, it doesn't get much attention.
My wife's favorite artist ever. You turn on Night Moves, and she melts.

I saw him in Jacksonville in the mid 80's. Mark Chatfield of The Godz/Rosie played guitar with Seger on 'The Distance' tour. Don Brewer of Grand Funk was the drummer.

I'm not sure if it is on youtube, but Chatfield played on Segers video "Making Thunderbirds".
