Hahaha!! "Yeah, well, there's been this long-time user who's a really annoying fucktard who trolled people like crazy and had trouble spelling and stuff...and this one time, he botched up '1st' really badly...and it's turned into our own meme that's stuck around for years."Trueblue23 wrote:Eh, you know how hard that would be to explain to people..LJ wrote: www.1thpower.com is available
1th?
Yea man, 1th. It's like 1st, but it's 1th.
WHAT THE FUCK!?!?
Imagine trying to explain that to the casual viewer who's wondering what's going on.

A former Bucknuts employee was recently hired by another media outlet. That could be some epic poetic justicejustincredible wrote:I think, regardless of what I call it, it will continue to grow at roughly the same rate. We'll need to put out a real big effort to get the word out, though.wes_mantooth wrote: Yeah, I kinda thought of that after I replied. It has pretty much grown from word of mouth.
QCB also sent me this PM a few minutes ago:
Might not be a bad idea but I have no idea how to go about getting something like that in the press.Since you can't fight fire with fire (lawyers), perhaps the power of the press could be of value. I wonder if any TV stations or newspapers would be interested in a "big guy bullies little guy" type of story.
Just a thought (and probably worth the same as the rest of my thoughts).
And to add to the rest, I think staying away from a sports based name is probably best, especially those targeting HS sports. I just don't think that's the niche this site has been hitting.

Who was the former employee? Natali? Think he'd want to join forces?

Not sure. I haven't talked to him as much since that all went down. I'll do some investigative work.justincredible wrote: Who was the former employee? Natali? Think he'd want to join forces?![]()

What about including Ohio in the domain name but nothing about sports?
http://www.ohiochatter.com is open.

That's probably been the best one IMO. I like that one. But..you can't really expect to go global when you have Ohio in the address.justincredible wrote: What about including Ohio in the domain name but nothing about sports?

I'd say I'm not really worried about going global. Someone mentioned something about needing a niche (which I agree with) and I think I kinda need to limit my target audience for that.

Yeah..I know it was hard to notice..but there was a ton of sarcasm in my statement regarding going global. LOL But I do like that name though.justincredible wrote: I'd say I'm not really worried about going global.

Alright, I'm about 90% sure I'm just going to change the domain name and be done with it.
Does everyone thing http://www.ohiochatter.com is a worthy name? Any other good verbs to use with Ohio?
Chatter kind of works really well, especially based on the definition:
1 : to utter rapid short sounds suggestive of language but inarticulate and indistinct <squirrels chattered angrily>
2 : to talk idly, incessantly, or fast

I could actually use the definition as part of the logo or tagline of the site.

ohiochatter seems solid. I'll try to rack my brain to see if I can come up with something better, but I have no issues with that one.
