...in the off chance that I am told it isn't worth the time and resources to fight it.

So far I like these the best:

http://www.ohiosportssite.com
http://www.freeohiosports.com
http://www.justinsforum.com

I know the first two really keep me locked in as an Ohio sports based site. The third is kinda lame but that fuckhead JJ named a site after himself. :)

I think if you really have to give in to Bucknuts, a sports forum is not the way to do that. Plus that really gives the whiners (this is a sports forum we don't need cursing) ammo.

So what about http://www.justinsforum.com? Easy to remember. Easy to type.

I can still keep on the sports forums they would just remain secondary.

For the same reason LJ gave, I'd go with justinsforum unless one of us thinks of something more rock solid (unfortunately rocksolid.com is fucking taken... :().

Besides, we are a random chat site with sports forums, as opposed to a sports site with random chat forums, so it might be better to not have "sport" in the title.

It is your site, so I would name it what you want to....no one will really care. I do agree with someone from one of the hundred threads about the site....it needs to be something easy and catchy.

I could also make it part of the domain I already own: http://www.thejcomm.com. Not that great of a domain, though, as you'd really have to spell it out for someone to make sure they got that there are two m's.

Alright, so in all seriousness, do you think justinsforum is a good idea or bad idea?

I think it is fine, but as far as bringing in more high school sports posters...it probably isn't going to work well.

I guess it kind of depends on what you are shooting for.

Right. But do you think freehuddle would be bringing people in if it weren't for word of mouth? As long as people still talk about it it doesn't matter what the name is as long as it is short, memorable and easy to spell.

Yeah, I kinda thought of that after I replied. It has pretty much grown from word of mouth.

I think, regardless of what I call it, it will continue to grow at roughly the same rate. We'll need to put out a real big effort to get the word out, though.

QCB also sent me this PM a few minutes ago:
Since you can't fight fire with fire (lawyers), perhaps the power of the press could be of value. I wonder if any TV stations or newspapers would be interested in a "big guy bullies little guy" type of story.

Just a thought (and probably worth the same as the rest of my thoughts).
Might not be a bad idea but I have no idea how to go about getting something like that in the press.

I would contact that sports writer at that Wooster paper that mentioned us in one of his columns. He is a well respected writer and publicity would be a good thing.
