HORRIBLE end game strategy and execution. Typical.

I don't even know if I want anything to do with the NIT, CBI, XYZ, or whatever. What a joke this season has been.

Dear Georgia Tech,

Here's your ticket to the Big Dance.

You're welcome,

North Carolina.

No FG in the last 5:16 for Carolina.

Absolutely pathetic. I need to stop watching basketball.

Haha.

It's only seven more months until the season starts. You guys will be back.

In the meantime, in between Big East games, I'm on my way over to IC.

I thought that would be the case, but now I'm not so sure. Davis is likely gone and Drew II may be transferring. If the team loses those two guys, in addition to the graduation of Ginyard and Thompson, that's a lot to replace, even though those guys haven't been that great this year.

Barnes, Bullock, and Marshall better be playing MAJOR minutes next season along with Zeller, Henson, and Strickland. The Wears will be solid role players and Will Graves or Leslie McDonald might make a shot every five games or so, but without (possibly) a PG with experience, this team might be in a similar position next year. If anything remotely close to this season happens again, I may lose my mind.

[reclegend is trying not to find levity in ironman's obviously dire fan tone.]

BUT, I also think that Roy will have Carolina back in the tournament and fighting in the top division of the ACC a year from now. This is how I look at it. There IS talent there, even if Davis is gone and Drew transfers out. Harrison Barnes, though not a lead man out front like Kyrie Irving, will have just as big an impact on his club. Carolina does need a solid point guard to have success in Roy's secondary break system, but Barnes and Bullock will at least help hide that problem, more so than anything we have seen this season. Marshall hasn't received the rave reviews he was early on in middle school this season, but he will be an upgrade from Drew, IMO. That's a positive. Lastly, think about it like this. If Roy misses the Dance again next season, then he's nowhere near a top five coach in the game. And Roy is a top five coach in the game.

You'll be back in the Dance at least, IMO.

At the same time, I'm not going to lie. 16-16 really makes me happy (YOU WOULD BE, TOO! Don't Judge!) I hope you guys get in the Dance (the little one) and make a case for 16-17. Then I KNOW I won't be seeing that Pepsi commercial anytime soon:)

Clemson looking like the shitty team once again. OP just can't coach in the post season. Embarrassing.

Not a very strong day for the ACC.

Clemson falls to NCSU and Wake falls to Miami. The ACC is honestly probably going to struggle to have more than 2 teams seeded higher than the 9 line. Duke a 1/2, Maryland a 3-5 and Florida State maybe a 6 or 7. VT, GT, Wake and Clemson are all looking at 10's or worst unless one of them goes on a big run.

Answer this question correctly and your bracket will stay cleaner. I wish I knew the answer.

Wouldn't surprise me if they lost this game, but if not I think they lose to Maryland in the finals. Duke just seems incredibly inconsistent. I would never bet a dollar on them to beat anyone ranked in the top 50. One game they'll beat a ranked opponent by 10-15 points, the next they play like garbage and lose. I can't believe this guy on the halftime report thinks they'll make the final four.

Duke takes 'em out strong in the end.

On to the semis. (Or what Roy calls, the second round of the ACC cocktail party. Wonder if he thinks that this year..)

Scheyer plays like he did in the first 30 minutes today against Tech (if they advance) tomorrow, and Tech wins by 10. Duke is clearly the supreme team in the ACC. I think 10 points better than anyone else on a neutral floor. It needs to start playing like it.

Singler was a monster today, though. Showing us why he should have been an All-American and NPOTY candidate all along. If he comes back, he should be the favorite.

I'm actually happy with the Miami matchup. But I do think the length and athleticism of the Canes could spell troubles. We already saw this in the first meeting in Coral Gables.

Should be interesting, but I think Duke is the clear favorite on a neutral floor. If we play to our potential, that is. Sounds like an obvious statement, but that's the story of this team at times.

I'm still nervous. About 20 hours until tip..

sorry about that earlier post, posting from the iphone hasn't been successful yet.

Went this morning, Duke looked pretty rough.
Didn't expect Miami VaTech to so hotly contested.

Tomorrow should be a fun day. Quarterfinal Friday is going well so far.

Well, any threat to Duke is pretty much gone, in my opinion. I guess Ga Tech did beat them earlier in the season, and FSU (who I'm sure will be upset by NC State) is playing well, but it's definitely Duke's tournament to lose at this point. Of course, that was the case anyway, but I was hoping someone would challenge them.

On a bright note, at least for the ACC, Georgia Tech is now definitely in the NCAA Tournament.
