why would NC want a new D6 school on the schedule unless they wanted to replace Fisher. NC is a little down this year but they just won yet another state title in 07. They are fine playing bigger schools and making the playoffs with 6-4 records. They learn a whole lot more over the course of the season from the few losses than they do by smashing little D6 schools. It kills me to hear NC supporters calling for a coaches head from one down year but I guess one reason for their success is not accepting anything less than state titles.

They have not made the playoffs in two seasons.

That was the first time in school history that, that has happened.

They have loss to Heath and Granville for the first time in back to back seasons.

They have not defeated a team who ended the season with a winning record since the state final game two seasons ago.

I am guessing that is a few of reasons why some are unhappy.

Is there any chance anyone will look at the DEPTH of talent of the last 2 seasons and surmise that this might be THE major problem in not winning the number of games necessary to qualify for post-season play? I doubt it!! The unhappiness occurs for not living up to the high expectations that may have been unrealistic!! With the changing demographics in the Licking County area, I am of the opinion that fielding teams in football that will live up to these high expectations will become increasingly difficult!!

I did not know there was a Notre Dame high school there.
I did know there is a Notre Dame University there that might be as good as some high school teams.

Just got back from the girls game( which they lost to Zanesville)I was talking to Billy and we ARE NOT playing Hillsdale as someone mentioned earlier in the post. Week one is still open and he has made over forty calls the last 2 weeks. He called Malvern and Grove City Christian and were turned down. I asked him about Bridgeport and Mogadore (and giving some suggestions who we could play) they both said no.He is working on it so we will have to be patient. When he tells me something I will post it.

well if your source is "correct" you misunderstood your source...
GCCS is not open week one (the return game with Danville is week 1) and NC is not open week 2-10... so there is no "turn down" for either team possible... they simply don't match up (GCCS would love to play NC! NC doesn't have an opening for them in 2010 however. Hopefully in future years they can get together)

I'm pretty sure Mogadore is already locked up for week one, so that would be why they turned NC down. With the great rivalry Moggy/NC has had over the years I highly doubt they would turn it down if Moggy had an open date.

I would love to play NC. What needs to be done to make it happen? If not next year, in 2011?

Next time I ask the coach I will ask him what week and when he contacted them.

I would love to see N.C. play G.C.C. in all sports.

Believe me. I understand if contractual obligations got in the way that it couldn't get worked out. When I was in high school many years ago. Massillon called our A.D. for a game the week after a contract was signed with Marion Harding. What do you do? I digress. GCC fans would love to play Newark Catholic. I think we would add value to your schedule(or vice-versa) ;)

What, now you don't believe Gils? :-/

Just ask him to schedule GCCS for 2011 or whenever both have an opening!

I was going to ask just so I know what week.
Being the coach I will speak to is the one that did the turning down I am guess he will know which week he turned down the school he turned down.

Quite honestly, your opinions and views are yours. Beyond that, butt out and let the schools take care of themselves!!!
