My 15 Year old son has hit 15,000 texts per month before he averages somewhere around 10,000 A month. Thank God for Verizon's unlimited texting for $9.99 a month

I used to be an anti-texter... but I am slowly becoming a texter. I do not like it for my primary form of communication, but it can be helpful in reaching friends and family. If someone is at work and most likely busy, I will send a text and they can respnd when time permits... rather than bother them with a phone call. It is also helpful when contacting friends with kids. I can send a text and if they are giving baths... or bedtime, they can respond when time permits. So.. I am slowly becoming a texter.

I wish I had a count from BBM. I would probably be around 4000 a month at least.

I actuallly was more proud with the less than 100 minutes of talking per month. Considering it is my only phone I was gunning for that illusive under 100 mark.

..i bet it woulda been closer to 70 if it hadnt been f0r ordering out!

I vote for sad.

But, it's a personal preference.
I think it is good when you just have one question or a thought that you want to tell someone before you forget and you don't want to get into long conversation.

You should see my texting during football season. I have had over 20,000 in a month. I have a group of around 70 people where we all share scores. Everyone texts me and I send them back out to the group.

Things I like about txting...

You can carry on multiple conversations at once. It is easier to pay attention to other tasks when talking over texting like watching tv and doing many things.

I have have 4-5 off-and-on conversations going on for hours and its all good.

Many people said similiar stuff when email came out. "why would I email when I can just call and tell ya". Well..txtn is more instant and immediate email.

I know we txt alot football scores. Pretty much most of the scores they announce at our local HS games come from txting.

One downfall is txting to teh wrong person when you are having multiple convos. Had it backfire a few times....but I will say it worked out awesoem one time. Made a comment to a woman that I kinda knew that was meant to go to a friend of mine. Well.....it grew from there. Wonderful, wonderful woman and we had some very good times together. Didnt quite work out, that happens sometimes, but still considered a friend and a tremendous woman.

That hasnt happend quite as much lately since i got my blackberry with threaded messaging. The old fashioned way it happened more often..but hard to do now.

Should I be sad or proud that I have never used a phone for texting?

I don't text. It's usually faster just to call. If I need to do it silently, I just e-mail them.
