Right now I am going to a community college and getting my associates in business administration/entrepreneurship and also taking extra accounting classes. After i get my associates I am planning to transfer to a 4 year school to get my bachelors in accounting.

The reason I went to the community college is for the free tuition. Also I wont get any financial aid(atleast I didnt at the school im at now) from filling out my FAFSA. Im not sure my parents are really down for paying my tuition for a 4 year college so thats why im looking for the best school for the money.

Right now im looking at West Liberty University, a school outside of Wheeling, WV and Akron, who I've heard has one of the top business schools in the country.

So any info and opinions on some schools would be great!

ASCBA accreditation is a good thing to look for in a business school.

Akron is accredited.

Drexel (Philly) is pretty expensive but they have an unbelievably good CO-OP program with some really good companies. I nearly went there.

YSU actually has a pretty good program too. I'm currently going there, our new building opens for the fall semester which should make things even nicer.

Ashland, the school I went to last year, has a good program too but is expensive.

Wrong. I taught in the Akron business school and I can assure you that it is excellent.

I'm in the MBA program at Akron.

The undergrad program is rated higher for the time being but the MBA program is catching up and together make up one of Princeton Reviews top 300 B-schools in the country. Farmer is good and has a wonderful new building but at least comparing graduate programs rated by the Princeton Review; Akron has surpassed Miami with GMAT averages, average GPA, and starting salary.

Akron holds multiple accreditation's that only the top 8% schools possess. If you want to know anything about facilities, professors, etc... I can fill you in from my personal experience.

Miami has the best undergraduate accounting program in the region.

It is a state school so your tuition will start at just over $21K but with both needs and merit based aid, you should pay no more than 2/3rds of that.

Also, Miami has the hottest girls of any northern college by far.

Indeed, I just didn't have any comparable statistics for the business undergrad program. Usually where one is good, so is the other. At least that is what I found looking at schools. Either way that tuition price is for undergrad.

Akron does have a decent business program. I know two people who recieved their MBA from there and are doing pretty well for themselves.

As stated Fisher is also good....ranked 14th in the country the last I checked. Did OSU move to semesters already? Or is it 8800 per quarter?!

I re-checked and its actually $8,800 undergrad tuition for all three quarters. I'm accustomed to seeing the price broken down by semester so that was what I assumed.

LMAO, I understand you're proud of your university. But I know people who have graduated from Akron--and you wouldn't LOL at them, likely because there is a great chance you'll never be as successful--even with your OSU degree. I also have an aunt who went through the business program at Miami--for your sake, I hope your degree does as much for you as hers did because you'll be a very wealthy man...but I'm highly doubting it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not downgrading OSU and I understand your stance and that you're just a little crazy, but don't laugh at other people's educations. I know a guy who went to BOWLING GREEN and is a billionaire. I know people who went to OSU who are high school teachers now. The school only tells part of the story, and it's a pretty small part.

I don't care. The point is, anyone can make up stories on the Internets using anecdotal evidence that no one cares to prove or know. Anyone can be successful attending mediocre colleges, because its not always about where you go, its the talent that you have. Now, over a million, or infinite, number of people attending Ohio State vs. an infinite number of people attending Akron, BG, other mediocre colleges, more people will be successful from Ohio State even adjusted from the differences in college attendance numbers, and you can take that to the bank.

The Fisher College of Business will be a top 10 business school in the next 8-10 years, on par with most of the ivy leagues. They have really tightened things up around here and are bringing in talent(professors) that used to only go to Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Michigan, etc... Most of the haters will be working for me one day, and that's all you need to know.

That's fine. I'm just saying, don't be a cock sucker and try to degrade someone because they don't go to Ohio State and you do. It doesn't make you some big shot. And since you clearly don't believe me, his name is Bob Sebo. He's from my home town, Salem, Ohio--lives there still. I do know him, another FreeHuddler worked for him (jpake1). He's a co-founder of a little company called Paychex. You know who else is from my home town? Max Fisher. So there you go, you have one guy who went on to Ohio State and proved he could be excellent with that education. Another guy from the same town, goes onto BGSU and proves you can get it done with that education as well. Quite possibly it has very little to do with where the degree came from...

Bottom line, quit trying to be a punk ass and rip on people who go to Akron.
