He had only 3 TO's tonight. Considering he touches the ball for the majority of the time on every possession, that's getting it done.
A little too much cockiness? The guy is the definition of a team player and he has the confidence to step up every time his team needs him.
Yea, and the turnover at about the 3 minute was careless to say the least. IMO, his cockiness is reflected in his hand gestures and head shaking after he takes someone. It is not needed and it serves no purpose.
I would like to see him tone it down a little.
I really don't see the relationship between cockiness and being a team player. He's a great team player. I've never said anything to the contrary.
Are you like 65? I haven't seen Turner do anything to make me think 'man, that dude needs to tone it down.' You have to love the emotion and excitement he plays with. So what if he gets excited after one of his many amazing plays? Guys half the caliber the player he is do it all the time.
And about the relationship between cockiness and being a team player: I've seen many cocky players, both at the pro and college level, totally alienate their teammates on the floor. Turner is a great, great player but he doesn't let his talent and confidence get in the way of involving all of his teammates, even though none of them really come close to him as far as talent goes. He is so unselfish, which makes him an even greater spectacle to watch.
By the way, I don't see the relationship between 'cockiness' and being nonchalant/careless with the ball. It's not like he's out there hot dogging or anything like that leading to turnovers. He has the ball in his hands like 60% of the time and is forced to create many of his own shots....so of course turnovers are going to happen. And don't forget, Turner's handle hasn't been that great until this year. The few turnovers he does commit are more of a result of him still improving his handle and adjusting to a new position.
