Hall of Fame or not?

Got into a debate with co worker today. I say yes.

Over 55 Million albums sold worldwide. Very original band in my opinion. Flea made it cool to play bass and has influenced pretty much any bass player since he hit it big. A record 11 number one singles on Modern Rock Chart.

Quite a few solid albums, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, By The Way, Californication all great albums in my opinion. Stadium was ok and the one with Dave Navarro wasn't too bad but not as good as those three in my opinion. Mothers milk had Higher Ground which I thought was a great remake of Stevie Wonders song.

Overall a great band with a distinct sound who has had both commerical and critic success.

This past year was their first year eligible and they failed.I know the Rock Hall is a joke really but these guys deserve to be in.

What do you think?

Yeah definitely HOF material. I like most of their earlier stuff but not the newer stuff so much.
Give it away probably my top track.

Being from the somewhat 'older' generation, they are one of the few 'newer' bands that I love. Totally original and IMO should be in without question.

Definitely. Hopefully RHCP doesn't become one of those bands that the HOF blackballs for no reason when every person that has any sense of music or music history knows they should be in....IE KISS, Rush, and Alice Cooper

Easily yes. Im surprised you actually had to form an argument against it. What the hell did your friend say to influence his side of the argument?

I like them quite a bit, but wouldnt say Im a diehard, however, I am not blind to say they arent hOF worthy, because they easily are.

Like every one else has said, absolutely yes. Even if you don't like their music, they have been one of the most successful bands of the last 20 years.
