I don't know the whole story, but there has to be more to it. I know one of Meyer's core values is 'don't hit a woman'. This was a true freshman, 5 star recruit who was on campus less than 8 months. No public history of any problems. I'm thinking he was not getting it done in the classroom or the training room. I'm not defending Brown, but that is a high price to pay for one drunken open hand slap which required no medical treatment for the woman. He should not have been drunk, he is 19. He should have left when the woman asked or told him to. He should have not placed himself in that situation. I hope the rest of the team gets the message, we are sick of players getting arrested no matter what for.
Any player under Meyer who was arrested with a 'violent' charge has never played for Florida again.
I would not be surprised to see him enroll at FSU next.

Wilson never played another down. He was kicked off for a year, given a chance to earn his way back on paying his own tuition. He was put back on the roster, but didn't last long enough to play a down before he got kicked off for good because he could not follow Meyer's extra conditions set for players who get in trouble. He went to Halloween Horror Night at Universal Studios. He was supposed to stay around campus. Coach found out, Wilson was gone for good.
