At what point is it acceptable to whoop a friend's ass?

When I get to the point that I'm extremely pissed off at them. That's about all I can tell ya. It has had to be done a couple of times though. :)

It's been building up over the past few years, and it's finally coming to a head.

I'm usually a laid back, chill person, but shits getting old.

Basically I feel like I'm the kind of guy that would do anything I can to help out a friend, and sometimes people don't do things in return.

If it's a true friend it will never come to that. If it does, there are NO RULES. Just win!

I've never felt the need to fight a friend. I would say that if it's at the point where you think you need to fight them, you should just end your friendship and move on.

Exactly.

This dude has been like a brother since we were in pre-school, and I'm extremely loyal to my friends, maybe too loyal. I know I've been getting screwed over for a while, but I guess I've finally accepted it ya know?

Thanks Fab.

It sucks because I think of my good friends as family, and it sucks to lose a brother. This dude is basically a piece of shit though. He has screwed himself, his mom and his grandparents over financially. He is 21 years old and about to file bankruptcy.

BS..my best friend is like a brother to me. Still to this day. He's just very stubborn and hard headed. It just took a couple ass beatings before he finally realized I'm never wrong. :D

Let me share a little something with you about this situation, I had to cut my ties with my real brother and that hurt my friend. My brother can't get off the drugs and it ended up costing him his family. A few years ago when my ex wife and I split I took the opportunity, against my better judgement to let my troubled brother move in with me. I thought I could fix the problem. I did for a short period of time, I had him working, paying his bills, hanging with my friends, etc....for about 5 - 6 months. Had his drug use mainly down to pot and that was keeping him out of trouble. Well one weekend he brings this chick home and they don't leave his bedroom for 3 days straight, I know right then something is up. After those three days he stayed confined to his room with this chick, wasn't going to work, stopped paying his bills. Stole from my mother (who at the time was killing herself between her full time job and caring for my very ill father who was slowly dying) and stole from me. Then he took off, didn't hear from him for weeks sometimes months. Wouldn't visit my father, etc....Then in Oct 06 my father passed and we had no way of contacting him. Well my sister shot off an email and he showed back up with this chick, but the first question was about insurance money! I loved my brother to death but I had to cut all ties from him, I couldn't do it anymore and my poor mother damn sure didn't need the stress and I wanted to kill him for the pain he causes. Getting my mother to cut ties was the hardest part, I mean how does a mother do that, but she had too. I haven't talked to my brother since Beanie Wells scored the opening TD in the OSU/LSU championship game when he called me out the blue right after that TD. I don't and won't talk to him ever again. That wasn't my true brother in my eyes, my friends I grew up with my whole life, they are my brothers!! I share this because I know where you are at my friend, but cutting the losses sometimes is what has to be done!

Before you do anything, read back through the posts on this thread.

Pretty good advice given, IMO.

I broke my dudes nose over something stupid at a bar a few years back. Didn't hear from him until a bill for 55 bucks showed up, he had to get his polo dry cleaned.
True, If you whoop dude it probably won't end at one so be prepared to hand out like 3 ass beatings.

I really don't know if it would have helped him, it would have helped me in the short run but I would have regretted it later. He was beyond saving, at least by me and caused too much pain to waste my time on causing more pain to everyone around! I watched my father die at 54, life is way too short to deal with bullshit like this!!

They would be very deserved.

I've never done a damn thing to this dude. Never asked for money, a ride, nothing.

I paid for him to go to New York City TWICE, one trip included a Yankees game.

He was a bit of a douche in high school, but got to tag along to parties because of me.

When he was in jail our senior year, I was the one who skipped class to go try to bail him out.

When his car blew up, I was the one shuttling his ass around for a sold year.

I defended him when everyone said he was a piece of shit and that he was holding me back, I lost a lot of friends taking up for him.

I'm starting to realize you have to help yourself before you help others.

I have come close to fighting my best friend before but I hold back because I would literally tear him apart. He is a classic Napoleon Complex case and he knows how to run his mouth haha. I have shoved him up against a locker, kinda back handed him in the mouth once.

No doubt Fab, good read. Tough to do that but sometimes it has to be done.
True, Probably feel about 175 lbs lighter in the end. Don't forget to make your decision when you are thinking clearly so you know you have made the right choice. Good luck main.

An ass beating isn't going to help a drug addiction.
