Perfect hire for ND.
Good call. Kelly's team didn't play Florida though if I'm not mistaken.
UC played Florida in the Sugar Bowl and got SMOKED last year. 37-3 at the half, if memory serves well.
Kelly was the head coach at Notre Dame at this time, if memory serves well.

Yep, I see that. Didn't remember if he'd left as of then or not.

I think he was referring to Florida's 41-14 beating of OSU a couple years ago. The margin of victory is the same. Frankly, you can't compare the two games because of the circumstances. UC did not have Kelly coaching, Quinn and the other asistant were on their way out the door, and UF was playing in what was (later not) to be Meyer's last hurrah.

Of course, you will point out to me the games canno tbe compared because OSU was in the game to the end and UC just scored some garbage points at the end to make it look better.

Either way, I don't see how any of these discusion is germane to Notre Dame.

^^ I know, Little Danny--I was just yankin' his chain...IMO, Coach Kelly is the perfect man for the job--he's been a head coach, and has won at every stop--give him 2-3 years and he'll have the program right back on top...

btw,I purged that OSU/Florida game from my memory--too damn painful

It's pretty obvious that there's a bit of a culture shock going on there and now that Spring practice is underway......it's only going to continue.

Gotta break 'em down and then build them up.
Agreed, and it really makes you scratch your head to think about how Weis's practices must have been. It's no wonder ND lost so many games in the 4th quarter over the past few years.

It was still his schemes, they don't work against elite talent.

FFS, you ND homers are retarded. Always making excuses, always twisting everything, that's why its EXTRA fun watching ND get BLOWN out when they play anyone worth a damn.

Enjoy the upcoming season, I know I will. My program is in National Title contention, again, ND is in getting BLOWN out in a relevant bowl game contention this year.

I'll also enjoy watching UC cruise through the worst conferences in college football only to play against the big boys and get their ass promptly handed to them. When's the last time UC ever beat anyone good? Here's a fact: they've never beat Ohio State, and they never will.

Sorry for the late response Sleeper but I was busy working the fry machine (since that is the only job my paltry diploma can land me). ;)

Anyway, UC's record against OSU is actually 2-13. Therefore, you are wrong there with your last thought that UC has never and will never beat OSU. When was the last time UC beat anyone any good: I don't know--- it's too hard to tell since in your mind (and some others) it is a moving target which changes after UC beats that team.

Just pray OSU doesn't play anyone from the "big bad" SEC. Those seem to enjoy playing OSU like any team worth a crap likes playing Notre Dame...

Or if they run into the juggernaut known as Purdue... Even a downright AWFUL Notre Dame team managed to beat them.

Ohio State, 2009 Rose Bowl Champions.

ND, "Umm we'd get BLOWN out in the Meinke Toilet Bowl, so we are just going to turn down that bowl game to deal with a coaching change" LOL
