I think Starling is going to be a monster, so I hope Notre Dame can snag him. They seem to have had their fair share of success allowing football players to play baseball too, so they probably have that working for them.

It's unwise to guess where a kid will end up, so I won't. Only he can really know, and maybe not even yet.

Phil Steele has Notre Dame at #16 in his preseason rankings. Might be just a tad high...

Four-star outside linebacker/defensive end Clay Burton (Venice, Fla./Venice) didn’t need much time away from Notre Dame, to know that’s where he wants to spend the college chapter of his life.
Burton becomes the 10th verbal commit in Notre Dame’s recruiting class-of-2011, and the second linebacker, joining Jarrett Grace (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain). Burton will play the CAT linebacker spot in the Irish defense, the same position currently occupied by junior Darius Fleming.

Aww shit. Not good news at all. He's gonna be a good one. Oh well, good luck to him at Nebraska.

Sweet get by Nebraska getting Starling. Just hope he stays long enough to see the field.....rumor is he's going to be a high draft pick in Baseball next spring.

Definitely a good get for Nebraska. Starling must have really wanted an opportunity to play for a conference championship....

and Rebel you are right, there is a chance he doesn't see the football field in Lincoln at all.

There isn't a chance he will win a conference championship either.

ND got a verbal the other day from 4 star DT Clay Burton of Venice Florida:

Kelly seems to be doing a solid job on the recruiting trail.

EDIT: someone beat me to it, LOL. Still a solid get for ND.

Solid pickup. They did manage to lose another 4* to Nebraska tonight though. 6'9" Offensive Tackle with some good feet.

We've heard this song and dance before, ND gets big time recruits and the goes 6-6, bowl loss, and then blames the old coach.

I don't see this year being any different and I'm shocked this thread has gone over 300 posts. ND football defines mediocrity, but oh, don't worry, they have the biggest fan base so they're okay!
