Navy football has been synonymous with dirty play since they've become relevant again. Perhaps he was annoyed with guys doing moves that can tear ACL's? I remember back in my wrestling days when John Smith singles were legal but somewhat frowned upon. Ever tackle a guy like that? I had. Their knees are done for six months. I'd get pretty fucking pissed if I were playing Navy. That said, they still needed to win that game and he should not have reacted in that manner. It's over, get over it. When the opposing coach, who is a rival, says it's not important...it's a bonafide non-issue.
