Who gives a shit! The writer isn't wrong...a lot of people other than Ohio State fans...find the use of the THE before the university name is pretentious and stupid.

I don't know about ALL, but he did lose some credibility. Especially that early in an article, you never want to make an error like that, you'll lose people before you can even make your point(s).
It doesn't take much research to find out that Gonzo isn't going to be announcing his name in the starting lineups, because, well....he won't be starting.

I can't believe that he doesn't understand that it's in the official name of the school. Always has been. Since inception. The name of the school is not "Ohio State University".

No, not when used as a definite article. In modern English, we tend to pronounce 'the' with an 'eeeee' sound as opposed to an 'uhhh' sound when it is followed by a vowel. E.g., "theeee egg" vs. "thuh dog."Jughead wrote: THEE is spelled with 2 e's, is it not?
