Oops. I messed that pick up. ^^^MaynardGKrebs wrote: Is the rumor I hear about Mojo being out due to a concussion true? if so, that would level the field a bit but i still pick the vern by a TD.
Did Mojo play?

Should be a great game, but looking for the Vern to bring home their second regional championship in a row!

Good luck Vern. Should be back in the semi's without any struggle.

Malvern has that aura about them this year... I'm expecting a big Malvern win.

Oh yeah, almost forgot the most important point, there COACH! Reigning Division 6 Coach of the Year. Master of the 2-point conversion. If GCC can out play Malvern's players, they will be hard-pressed to out coach that genious. Only one who can do that is the almighty Slusser.
LOL..... awesome predictions this week!!!
What a great game and proof of the Eagles prowess and growth this season. Total domination of the Hornets tonight, great defense. Had two TDs taken back by penalties, just sorry we couldn't put a few more on the scoreboard. Could easily have been 35-8 or 42-8.
Congratulations Dream Team!
btw sebastion, that's what happens when you have a two time winner in the Central Ohio Coach of the Year in Coach Lucas.

And so ends the chances of the Eastern side of Ohio in D6. The four teams left will represent the Western and Central part of the state just fine.

When a 1,700 yard rusher is sitting on the sidelines, that tends to make a BIG difference. It is no secret that MOJO is what made Malvern go, but a great job by GCC none the less.

Nice atmosphere last evening. Thank you to Zanesville High School, what a great venue and excellent hospitality by event workers.
Here is a link to video and photos from last night’s game. Congrats to both squads on a great season.

Dave33.............are you TheDave from the old huddle??????????? you act like it.......we cheer for are local conference team and then you respond after the fact like you knew everything?????? Why don't you sit your best offensive weapon down, and then play the game..........what a tool !!!!!
Congrats to the Hornets, you were the first to make it to the semi's and then backed it up with another long tourny run. You put the IVC on the map.

GREAT highlight video I'll make sure to forward this on. #2 Conner Lucas is pound for pound/inch for inch one of the best unknowns in Ohio prep football.CapCityPreps wrote: Nice atmosphere last evening. don't blame it on not having your star running back , a team isn't good from just one player theres 10 other peaple out there.
congrats GCC

No one player is that important except for a QB. A good running game is 90% blocking schemes anyway.

A one point win is as good as winning by 10 (or more), so if Ridgewood is "sub-par", the Hornets are even worse than that.TMajic wrote: Wow, Sebastian, you never cease to amaze. Great season Malvern, losing Mojo is a huge deal. It was like Ridgewood losing Young last year, it matters. If he Mojo is healthy Malvern wins this game, but....

You people claiming Mojo being out does not make a difference are clueless. The line is 90% responsible for a teams running game? Not sure about that. I agree they are tremendously important, but I have seen great backs make bad lines look good. I will take the great back bad line over great line bad back any day of the week in high school football.
To the Malvern community, I am disappointed in your support Saturday night. Down by 2 scores and you leave and give up on "your" Hornets at the half? Disappointing turnout to begin with and then you quit on the boys.

Gotta agree with Roy and Visaboy on this. Mojo = 1st downs, 1st downs = more time of possession, more TOP = fewer total posessions for the opponent. Vern scores more, GCC scores less. Losing your star RB matters.
Still, congrats to the Vern on a great season.

Dave33, Just supporting the conference school. Don't think I disrespected GC. Didn't know a thing about them. Just hoping that Malvern continued to have success. But if it makes you feel better about yourself, go for it.
I listened to the game. That was not typical of how Malvern has played this year. After the 3rd TO someone in the house said, "Sounds like Malvern is wanting to get going on basketball." I'm sure that's not what was in their minds, but it was just a bad performance. It happens, especially in HS football. That being said, GC did a great job and did what they had to do to win. So they deserve the credit. My gut tells me that if Malvern was fully loaded and didn't turn the ball over, it still would have been a dog fight.
Radio guys were hilarious. Everytime there was 3 yards to go for a first down, they said, "It's 2nd and 3rd", "It's 3rd and 3rd", "That makes it 4th and 3rd at the 27 yard line."
