When your team is 0-10 in conference play, his name probably isn't going to be mentioned much. He got pub last year. Similar to Tasmin Mitchell of LSU, 18 and 10 a night but on an awful team. Here's a list:

Trey Thompkins, Georgia
Kevin Jones, West Virginia
Matt Janning, Northeastern
Sylven Landesberg, Virginia
Luke Babbitt, Nevada

Omar Samhan, St. Mary's: Dude is having a monster year, averaging 21/11, and 2.5 blocks, and St. Mary's hasn't missed a beat without Pat Mills, sitting at 19-3.

Paul George, Fresno State: Very athletic with a smooth jumper, and a pretty good defender as well. Averaging 17/7/3 and among the leaders in the nation with 2.6 steals per game as well. Going to be a lottery pick some day in my opinion.

Kevin Anderson, Richmond: I listed them as my mid-major team to watch before the year started, mostly because I love their back court. The Spiders are 17-6 (6-2) in tough A-10, and Anderson leads the way in points and assists. 17/3.5/3 and solid all around.

Damn Babbit...he was an OSU verbal...backing out before signing! He would have been HUGE help the past couple of years! :(

All the time, but I'm very Big Ten-focused as well. They fawn over him (rightly so, because he's frickin good) all the time.

Omar Samhan, St. Mary's:
This kid has worked very hard to become a pretty good player. He was very heavy when he entered St.Mary's and his skill set was very poor. He has transformed himself into a solid player.

What about the kid at USF?? Dominique Jones.

Greivis Vasquez, Maryland. Many people dislike the kid due to his brash personality, but I love his game. He's just a baller. That's the best compliment one could give him. He's averaging 17 points, 6 assists and 4 boards a game, and has the Terrapins sitting at 14-6 and 4-2 in the conference.

He is nowhere near given the respect he deserves. In my opinion, he is number one in the country in this category. If he played at Duke or Kentucky, he'd be a household name.

He's one of the clutchest players in the country. If he had more help around him, Maryland would have a national championship caliber club. That's how good he is.

I understand your dislike of him. He's arrogant. But then again, so was Larry Bird. That's just his game. I'd take him on my team any day of the week.

He told Maryland fans to "shut the fuck up" multiple times during a game last season, then said they can "get the hell out" after the game. That isn't arrogance, it's epic douchebaggery.

If only he was as good at playing basketball as he is at being an enormous tool, he'd be staring at a Hall of Fame career.

But I digress :)

I consider Vazquez to be pretty well known, so I didnt list him. But youre right, he is a baller.

Also, from my very own Indiana University:

Verdell Jones III
14 pts, 3.2 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 block

In B10 play he is at around:
17 pts (rest are about the same)

He might be known by some, but he's rarely discussed among the greats around the country. I can't remember the last time I heard his name mentioned in a non-Maryland game when top players are being talked about. This is why I named him.

He is so good, though. My favorite non-Duke player to watch, no doubt. If this sounds like a crush, ironman definitely know why:)

I disagree on Hazell. I'm not impressed by him at all. He's a chucker. He does as much to hurt Seton Hall at times (forcing things and taking dumb shots) as he does to help them.

18 shot attempts vs. 1.4 assists per game for a guard on a pretty good team is pathetic.

Thank god we shut that little prick down. I was sitting courtside against Maryland last week, and we could hear Vazguez after he went to the bench once. A trainer held out a water bottle and you could clearly hear him say, "I fucking told you to get me a fucking towel, get that fucking water bottle away from me, fuck you." Wow. Lol. Douche.

Can't wait until Sunday so I can watch him torch Carolina. I'm sure that the entire FreeHuddle nation will be able to hear me screaming expletives at Greivis through the TV from 2-4pm.

He's definitely a great player. OhioTiger33's post only confirms what I suspected about him though. You can just tell by the way he acts.

Darnell Dodson for Kentucky. Came from JUCO to play for one of the top teams who have a loaded team. Has hit 8-13 3's in last 2 games.

I think thats the biggest thing. It's only Big 10 places where the media is giving him credit. Like down here in Cinci OSU doesn't even get mentioned, let alone Turner's stats. UC is too busy pretending they matter to the Big East.

From article:
Here's hoping Vasquez proves me wrong and finds a way to put on his Superman cape for the many big games on the Terps' horizon (starting tomorrow at Florida State). No one will be happier to eat some crow than me. So don't hate the hater...we're all in the same gang.
Well, in Maryland's win over Florida State on Wednesday, Greivis went for 23 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds and 6-of-6 free throw shooting down the stretch. I'd say that's stepping it up on the road. The Terrapins are now tied for first in the ACC with Duke at 5-2 and sitting at 15-6 overall. Through seven ACC games, Vasquez is averaging over 21 points and almost 7 assists per game, and scored 30 while dishing out 7 assists in a two-point loss on the road at Wake Forest. For the crew he is working with, he did what he could to put his team in a position to win.

He's not playing with Steve Blake and Lonnie Baxter.

Doesn't surprise me, though, that you'd scour the Internet looking for an anti-Vasquez article. Death, taxes and, well, you know. Lol.

Greivis Vasquez with 26 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 6-of-11 shooting from three in Maryland's 92-71 drubbing of North Carolina.

Vasquez now averaging over 23 points and 8 assists a game in ACC play, and his team has a 16-6 (6-2) record.

Wonder what that blogger has to type about now..
