My mom has mentioned that they are expecting a big storm up in Central Ohio soon. I'm hoping it finds its way down to Cincinnati.

Longitudinally speaking, my work is on the same bearing as Miami and we are calling for 40 mph winds and rain most of the weekend. could be a shitty SB.

Good run on the models for most of Ohio here. I like the NAM model more than the GFS too.

Yeah weather.com is calling for anything for Zanesville, but Accuweather is calling for 6.5

From WHIOTV out of Dayton, OH:
Friday: An area of light snow possible in the morning. Then a rain/snow mix snow arriving in the afternoon, becoming all snow again Friday night. Highs in the mid 30s.
Saturday: Snow tapering off in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 20s.
Sunday: Partly sunny and cold. Highs in the low 20s.
I think it's too far away to predict weekend weather -- maybe by tomorrow night?
Usually the best place to go is local news -- weather.com always waits until the last minute. Right now in Dayton they're calling for a 70% chance of rain/snow on Friday, and 40% chance of snow on Saturday. Big question is, HOW MUCH? 70% chance of one inch? 70% chance of ten inches?

Why do big storms always come on the weekend? Do they know it's the weekend and intentionally mess with us, making us stay cooped up with our kids all weekend long?

I just find it funny that people get so worked up about 4" of snow. That's not a major storm....unless you live in North Carolina or Georgia. I'm in my 40's....when I was younger a 4" snowfall didn't even earn a mention on the news most of the time....now 2" gets school cancelled and people run to the stores like the world is coming to an end. We have become so wussified that it's almost hard to take.

Keyphrase: when you were younger. Seems these days 4" storms are a big deal. Outside of the March 08 storm, it's been pretty boring winters around here.bartsimpson wrote: I just find it funny that people get so worked up about 4" of snow. It's because our snow removal sucks here.bartsimpson wrote: I just find it funny that people get so worked up about 4" of snow. seems like this year southern/central Ohio has been hit harder than north of Columbus.(minus the lake effect dumpings)

They are saying we will get 9" in Chillicothe on Friday into Saturday. I would guess it will be more like 1-3". Any other weekend I would say, "let it snow", but I have a wedding I have to be in Saturday.
