The Meadowbrook Colts return all their starters from last year's team. I think they can make some noise this year in the ECOL. Who's gonna be top dog this year? Rank 'em.
1. Dover
2. Meadowbrook
3. Coshocton
4. Cambridge
5. New Philly
6. Claymont
7. River View

I think the ECOL has teo teams that will be ahead all year, Dover and Coshocton, then 3 teams that could surprise people and contend for the title ( New Phila, Meadowbrook, Claymont)
River View and Cambridge will have a battle for last place
1. Dover
2. Coshocton
3. Meadowbrook
4. New Phila
5. Claymont
6. River view
7. Cambridge

Yikes,
First of all Gene Ford is no longer the coach, and basketball does not come first liks it once did (as you know basketball ruled the school)
The new coach has not had very good season since coming in (alot of 13-15 wins in the season) Also besides last years regional run, the havent made it out of sectionals.
They lost 8 players from that team, all 8 that saw significant time. They return two decent players and the word from Cambridge is also that very small numbers coming out htis year, meaning freshmen will have shots at varisty time (which isnt a bad thing)
The rest of the ECOL is tough this year, Dover always loaded and ready to play shut down defenseand now is the best coached team by far. Coshocton has the best player in the conference who is surrounded by some pretty good size and athletes. Meadowbrook returns everyone from a decent team last year and have gaurds that are far better than Cambridge. New Phila always hsa a pretty strong team, Claymont has solid gaurds and a pretty good post player. For River view i honestly dont know much about them but from what i saw from Cambridge last year and the talk around their team this year it looks to be a tough one coming....

So when i look at Cambridges schedule that plays Dover, Coshocton, New Phila, Meadowbrook, Buckeye Trail, Marietta, and Zanesville twice plus a game against Carrolton. Thats 15 gmaes i dont see Cambridge winning more than 5 at the most, it will probably look more like 3 wins.

Yeah, because a scrimmage really means a ton. Especially your first one. C'mon, we all know Fort Frye is usually well coached and pretty good. It was good that they got beat up on a little bit. They'll learn from it. Plus, you know, Meadowbrook isn't really a big school. Your comment kind of insinuates that the Colts got killed by a much smaller school. That's not necessarily true brutha. Go Colts!

Well anyone that has seen Kapono post knows that Fory Frye is the greatest team ever, just like last year when Fort Frye beat Trail in the Tournament

Just a question kapono. On the other thread about the D2 East District, Fort Frye was missing 4 starters when they scrimmaged Meadowbrook. This thread says three. Just curious because I think MHS had a player or two, not starters that I know of, out as well.

They are doing it different this year. Instead of an insert previewing all area teams, they are devoting a page in the sports section previewing several teams each day. Today Tuscarawas Central Catholic, Coshocton, Harrison Central, and West Holmes.

I would imagine the change was for economic reasons.

Not sure about my Colts this year. Haven't been playing well in their scrimmages. Got beat against John Glenn this past Saturday. They better step things up, or they'll be in for a long year! Go Colts!

Skins should be good this year. I remember Brown was a real thorn last year, hitting 3s from everywhere, and McCluskey's about as game as they come. Can't say I actually enjoy when we play there (as intimidating a court as you find in the ECOL) but the competition is great!

Dave Brown may win POY in the league this year and he is definately a tough customer but the best player in the ECOL is Anthony Monaco.
