McKinley looked awesome today against GlenOak... I was at the Massillon game as well and man... it was ugly.... but i mean i think ive figured out your playbook.... when its 3rd and 5 from your own 30 partridge MUST throw deep =)... lol JK
Let's Go PuPs....Beat Massillon AGAIN
Alum...I agree, but that's why they play the game. One of the reasons teams seldom beat another team twice in one season is because the team that wins the first game...seldom changes their game plan and why should they? It worked once...it should work again, right?? NO. The team that got beat the first time works overtime to figure out why they lost and correct their mistakes. I've seen it happen too many times.
Having said that, my heart says Massillon and my head says McKinley. They have wayyy tooo many athletes over there. But, Massillon has a way of winning with lesser teams and this just might be one of those teams.
The main reason Massillon looked ugly against Twinsburg, was the play calling. Perhaps I should say the execution of the called play. Rob had a rough game last night with that. I don't see him having another game like that. Remember Twinsburg returned 19 starters from last years team, so they weren't exactly chopped liver. A lot of experience over on that side of the ball.
The "EXPERTS" are most likely going to pick McKinley, but then they won't be playing in the game and most of them won't even be at the game. If I were allowed down on the field before the game, I could tell you who was going to win by looking into the players eyes. You can tell by the way the eyes look. No kidding, you really can. If McKinley comes in thinking they have the game won and all they have to do is show up...they will be in for a long night.
I believe the difference will be Massillon's offense. If it is clicking and not turning the ball over at the end of great drives...Massillon wins. If it is turning the ball over and not sustaining drives...Massillon loses. Massillon doesn't have the depth on defense to keep it on the field 3/4 of the game. The offense HAS to carry it's load in this game. McKinley is simply too talented for the offense to leave the outcome of the game solely on the shoulders of the defense.
Having said this...I think Massillon in another close game. I don't see a blowout by either team. Got to remember...this is Massillon/McKinley...it doesn't matter if it is Week 10 or Week 50. IT IS Massillon/McKinley Week.
