say you work M-F 9-5 (8 hour day, 40 hour week)

would you rather work a schedule like that or work 10 hour days for 4 days a week (still 40 hours) and have a 3 day weekend every weekend (fri, sat, sun)

My employer recently tested 4x10's in a couple locations. They found that production dipped and that many employees were no more productive in a 10 hour days then an 8 hour day. The trial lasted 3 months before they ended it and went back to 5x8's.

Worst hours ever?? I love it!! I sleep in, I am a night owl up to 2am pretty much every night.

me too but I'm at work by 6 and can still go somewhere after work.

I worked 4 10's at Petsmart Dist and I liked it back in the day. Got a shift differential which was like .50 and one less day of driving and wasting gas. I wish in someways I would have held on to that job in the long term.

At my previous job, I worked 4-10s. Loved it. Although I had Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday off.

I figure, your day is already wasted by working. So, why not waste four days, instead of five.

Fab1b, Those are great hours. I worked those hours a lot of years and there is nothing better than getting to the club when the girls are already partying and you don't have to get up early in the am.

Hate to warn you of this but when you start having kids, your priorties will change and you won't even give care. Its funny but your kids will make you grow up!!

Ain't that the truth! I'd much prefer 4 10's, however in my case it would have to be more like 4 15's...

I work 4 10's but my day off is Tuesday. It's nice having a day off during the week to make Dr. appointments, do the grocery shopping, etc. so you don't have to try to get it done on the weekends.

I worked 3 x 12 for a couple of years and am now working 5 x 8. That being said, I miss my scheduled vacation time. Two day weekends suck.

I only work 40hrs, but I'm on what they call salary+, so if I do work overtime I get paid time and a half. They don't allow us to work overtime very often.
