IF we had a pass defense we would be A OK. The reason we lost this game is because Wisky was able to pass, wich softened our run D which allowed them to run easier. If we get these DB recruits that some are speaking of, then we SHOULD improve.

The guys are there already, the pass d wouldn't be as terrible as it has been if Vlad,turner, and floyd could have played all year. Vlad had a injury to his hammy in the spring, turner had to be redshirted (didn't come on campus till like a week before opening day) and floyd has been battling the flu all year. Woolfolk is way overrated imo yea hes fast but he looks like another morgan trent out there. So that leaves us with 1 quality db this season. Next year the secondary will be fine

You're right it's not okay.

But, you can RR now then we have to go through the "growing pains" again, so it's what 3-4 years until some new guy can clean house? Look at the NFL (Different I know) Washington has had 4-5 coaches in the last 10 years; nobody can get anything established. This is the same problem that ND and other schools have...If you dont get immediate results duces. That doesn't work; you need to have some foundation. When you can't build on that foundation is when you need to worry and get canned.

I agree with you 100% and its not ok to go 3-9 or 5-7. Think about it like this what is going on at michigan is a COMPLETE change in culture (for the better imo) old michigan was great before carr. Carr was a good not great coach he would consistently have good years but he was slowly running this program in the ground. Turning this program around to be like florida, osu, usc, etc. was not going to be easy and we knew that. Its just showing now that its going to take longer then expected. Im telling you as long as we keep rich rod we will at the top of the big10 like the old days, all the guy has done is win every where he goes. So why wouldn't it work at michigan? With robinson controlling the D we will have a damn good d (people just judge him b/c the syracuse situation and forget what he did as a d-cord) and rich rod controlling the O thats 2 of the best in the buisness for their sides of the ball

RR needs 2 more year IMO and I just don't see him getting an extension if they only win 8 games next year so I say let him go now to save another year. Also most coaches don't have a system that is there way or the high way. Most coaches adapt to what they have and implement there system while winning the easy games. I understand that they will be great if he gets 4 to 5 years but I don't see him getting past 3 so I want him gone now. I will root for UM forever and will support whomever the coach is. I would rather them give him the extension at the end of this year or fire him. Not knowing for sure what is going to happen only hurts recruiting IMO.

Who do you see them landing if RR is gone? UM is still 1 of the top 10 jobs in the country and I would believe a lot of big name guys would want that job.

Jim Harbaugh and Les Miles would certainly get interviews, right?

Les would be nuts to take the job right now, even though he is a Michigan man. Not sure the alumni would be sold on Harbaugh yet. What he has done at Stanford is pretty amazing though and I'd be all for having him. I have no idea what type of offense he ran at San Diego but the one at Stanford is pretty traditional like what Carr ran. They would probably have a high turnover on the roster again.

Never thought he was a great coach. Just a coach in a weak conference with a neat offense that couldn't get it done when it mattered most. It doesn't help that Mr. Tate "I'm a Heisman type player after 4 games" Forcier showed why he is a freshman. I think it serves most UM fans right. The coaching at that school is on par with their fans knowledge on these forums.

Harbaugh would be a GREAT pick up for them. I thought that before this year. The guy knows how to coach. I'd much rather him stay at Stanford and keep RR up north.

If I remember correctly, Harbaugh had some very unflattering comments about his alma mater that ticked a lot of UM people off. Miles would be miles ahead of Harbaugh if Mich. is dumb enough to fire RRod.

I disagree, I think as long as he gets 8 wins then he gets a 4th year(but he needs a big win next year to). I think the schedule is set up nicely for us to get at least 8 wins.

If we can go 8-4 or 9-3(big win over nd or wisky) then that shows improvement and buys him another year. 2011 is the year that we start getting back on top of the conference and bcs imo. You need to remeber we are a VERY young team and will only get better (cant get any worse). Other then wisconsin, PSU, and Illinois we have been in every game this year.

Since when does Michigan have to "rebuild" or give a coach time to input a system. Lloyd Carr was ran out of town because he "only won" 8-10 games a year (with a few exceptions of course). RR can't win 10 games in two years at UM? I gave the man a chance even though his hiring was questionable. Two years is enough for me.

An interesting article on the scout board that shed's some light on the michigan defensive problem's and where the root of the problem is. Fella's alot of this problem goes back to Carr and his recruiting on defense which led to 17 out of 28 recruit's being complete bust's in his final 3 year's. Yes you read that right Carr only recruited 28 player's on defense in 3 years.... and we wonder why we have zero depth?

Extending his contract an extra year is not going to help with recruiting. Either fire him or give him an extension IMO. We need solid recruits and not knowing if they will have the same coach for more than a year is not going to help IMO.

Look I like RR and I think he can get us where we need to go but Michigan is not going to give him that time IMO. An 8 win season with no wins over OSU is exactly why Carr is gone. If it took us 3 years to get back to where we were before RR was there than that was a mistake IMO.

No I don't see him getting his 4th year and one year extensions are not the way to go IMO. Ive said before on jj that I would rather them extend his contract now than wait a year. I would rather him be gone but I am confident the can get UM where they need to be. But I don't think the boosters will support him with no OSU wins. I just do not want to waist another year.

I have not been very clear lol.

I do like him as a person and I understand what he is trying to do. But I don't like him as a coach because he has not won anything at UM. I am not a fan of WVU so he has to win games at UM for me to like his coaching.
