Its amazing how the spread has taken off in the past few years. Kenton seemed to really get it rolling around 2000 and Ifft learned from their coach. Now it seems to be the offense of the future (today). I had some doubts the first year we ran it, but it certainly does grow on you as the team figures out how to run the spread effectively.
I agree with posters talking about the line play being the deciding factor. Our defensive line has done a great job of pressuring and containing quarterbacks. The best way to contain a quarterback is to turn him back into the middle where all the help is and Dover will do this !
I am looking forward to a great night of football Friday.

Thanks NWIndianNation01...I'm here now too. (NWIndianNation01 was my referal). I really like the secrecy. However, it is just a matter of time before we over-run by the unmentionables.

My Uncle (Also a NW alum.) lives in FL, and has told me that it is very common dowh there because of the abundance of speed that they seem to have. They have been running some version of the spread for a long time, and I think I would like to see 2 teams that are proficient at it really duke it out. The only problem is the game would take 4+ hours to get done with all of the scoring and clock stopage. Like I said earlier, I am a fan of the style, but not yet a complete convert.

"I think one of Jones' biggest factors is his speed on the edge, running away from blitzers. A big key will be keeping him in the pocket. I would however like to see him run more once he reaches the edge to pick up the easy 5 or 6 yards instead of trying to heave it downfield"

That comes with experience. QB has a wide open 10 yard gain and he pitches it down field. It happens alot in the spread. It kinda drives this fan nuts. KIDS what you going to do with them.

I am sold on the spread for this year. It is a perfect fit for our team. They have adapted well. I know the statisticians see that BJ has had 12 INTs and that he has a high percentage of passes picked as compared to other QBs. But, the way he passes into a pack of defenders as often as he does (and an Indian comes running out of the pack with the reception), it is a wonder that he could only possibly have 12 interceptions.

as someone asked earlier. Didnt you NW fans call our spread offense gimmicky 2 years ago? Seems Victor enjoys gimmicks now?

I'm neutral on this one. NW is on our schedule and I want Dover back on our schedule. Good Luck to both teams!

A couple of things to mention again and again:

1) This is the "FASTEST" Dover team I have ever seen...

2) This is the "BEST" defensive team Dover has ever put on the field...

3) This is the "BEST" football Dover has played in Ifft's tenure...

4) This is the "BEST" team I have ever seen come out of Dover...

5) We are "NOT" taking Northwest lightly...

If the Dover D gives up more than 14 pts then I will be more than surprised! I just don't see NW handling what Dover throws at them. I believe NW might score 14, but no more than that! I also believe Dover will prob score more than 27, but still sticking to 27-7 prediction. GO DOVER!!!

I hope you are correct for the next four Fridays. Then you can take about 37 weeks off.

beast you keep giving other teams too much credit.
We are too big and too strong up front to lose this week. Go Dover!

I might be giving them too much credit, but 27-7 isn't that unreasonable! lol... I hope that I'm correct as well!!!
