CinciX12 is a Xavier fan vball. He'll be quite pissed to hear you confuse him with the degenerate UC people like myself.vball10set wrote: ^^^+1...he's still pissed because of the ass-kicking they took in the Sugar Bowl![]()
His comments were stupid though. Everyone is playing on Thursdays now-- even Texas and Notre Dame. Thursdays night games are the new big thing. ESPN obviously values it because you have Tirico, Fowler and Jesse Palmer in the booth. It's only when you get Rod Gilmore and Joe Testatore when you have to start worrying.

I hate Jesse Palmer. "Hey I played backup and was the Bachelor, listen to what I have to say"Little Danny wrote:CinciX12 is a Xavier fan vball. this slate actually brought about a pretty good slate of games for the most part too in terms of competitiveness

From the slate of games this past year...the Big 10 is the only BCS conference that did not play on a Thursday Night....

exaclty. I can't believe there are so many freehuddlers that don't like playing on Thursday. Heck if I had my way we would kick off at 12:00 every Saturday. That is when I like them to play but whenever they play I will watch. Makes no difference to me.Tiger2003 wrote: I am just saying but the 2007 National Champion LSU Tigers opened there season on the road vs Mississippi State on a THURSDAY NIGHT.....

Kind of funny, I remember a few OSU fans laughing at the Big East and other conferences for playing some of their games on thursdays and fridays.

Your Brother plays for Cincinnati? Thats pretty cool.
I like thursday games too, Hell I wish College football was on every day of the week. Doesn't really matter who's playing, much better to watch than the NFL.

I like it for a few reasons.
It's the home opener against a Conf USA team on Labor Day Weekend.
It's a season with 8 home games instead of 7
It's a cool way to kick off the season
It gives OSU 9 days for Miami
It's not like OSU is playing their biggest game of the season on Thurs October 21st or anything like that. I wouldn't be a fan of a Thursday night game mid-season, but creative ways to open the season are always fun.

Please refer to other posters in this very thread who opine Thursday nights are reserved for MAC schools and OSU is lowering itself.vball10set wrote:that's funy--I've been on this site since day one,and on the other one since 2001,and I don't EVER remember anyone laughing at any conference for playing a game on a Thursday or Friday :huh:goosebumps wrote: Kind of funny, I remember a few OSU fans laughing at the Big East and other conferences for playing some of their games on thursdays and fridays.

I forgot I provoked everyone on this thread haha.
You guys didn't disappoint. Good work.
And Little Danny kinda maybe sort of stood up for me? I think it may have been he just didn't want me called a UC fan though. Which is certainly understandable. I would raise the average IQ over 5.
