This is an OSU home game, and like I said, I get it. It's about exposure and a national audience in a game that no one really cares about.

But it's not like people don't work on Thursdays. I honestly don't think as many people head to campus on a Thursday compared to how many would on a Saturday and I don't know how you could say otherwise.

Again, it makes sense for OSU from an Athletic Dept standpoint as well as national exposure and possibly even generating some Heisman talk for Pryor early in the year.

But the local businesses have to be pissed.
It's still a home game and it's still 1 more game at home than they have had since... god knows how long. They have 8 home games this year.

Yea I get it, and the Miami game I'm aware is a home game next year. Someone made a point about playing at Miami next year and I didn't understand what they were saying.

Ohio State should not have done this.

I dislike OSU mainly because of their arrogance and never really having accomplished anything, but they should never played a Thursday night game. Would USC, Florida, Texas, Bama, etc do this? Hell no.

Yeah, there are tons of programs that have accomplished more than Ohio State. They should just sit the fuck down already and let Cincinnati or Xavier rep Ohio.

Dumb move. Thursday night games are for programs that need exposure.

OSU fans need to knock off the faux indignity at playing on a Thursday night.

It's not the first time they've done it, and it won't be the last.

Plus, some pretty major programs have played on Thursdays in recent years and I haven't seen any tarnish to their reputations for doing so.

I'm as big an OSU fan as there is, but those of you who think this is some sort of outrage need to get over yourselves.

Does Thursday night make it less of a football game? If not, then why does it really matter which day of the week they play on?

I love it--it just means we have to wait two less days to watch the Bucks

I realize that the post which said that we have become the MAC was posted primarily as a joke, however I don't think the Buckeyes and the Big Ten Conference should ever be compared to the MAC. I think if you check the record, no MAC team has ever won the Rose Bowl game nor have they ever been National Champions in Division One. there must be reasons that are to the benefit of the Ohio State program or they wouldn't have scheduled it. I personally like the idea that the Bucks will have a little more time to be primed and ready for the "Canes". Regardless of which night or day the season starts on, I would assume that we will all be either in the stadium or perched in front of a Big Screen TV in some sports bar or sitting in your family rooms with an appropriate beverage, waiting for the kick off. Go Bucks.

People bitching about this are fucking retarded...who cares? Seriously, give me ONE GOOD REASON why you're so upset that it's on a Thursday because I haven't read a GOOD reason yet...I didn't hear any one complaining that the Rose Bowl wasn't played on a Saturday.

It's against Marshall, I love it actually. I'd rather watch a game on a Thursday night against an opponent like Marshall than wake up to watch a noon yawner.

Nooners are the worst. I don't really see what all the ruckus is about either.

How do you not understand what I am saying, OSU has 8 home games this year due to the Miami game being a home game. Next year they go back to 7 home games. Name for me the last time OSU had 8 home games? I will do it for you, 2004. That being said, the economic impact of a Thursday night game will still be a positive one compared to your average season. Follow me now?

Your point is moot because it is an extra game to begin with.

The real reason you dislike OSU is because your team has no chance of beating them.lol

This post is one gem of a fail.

For one, what HASN'T OSU accomplished?

Secondly, remember that game USC lost to Oregon State 2 years ago? That was a Thursday nighter.

Texas played A&M on a Thursday night this year.

Those 2 examples are both off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure Bama played a Thursday nighter a couple years ago too.

So do big problems play Thursday nighters? Uh...hell yes.

It was in 1997 against Wyoming.
