DeyDurie5, The verizon thing would be hoping to get information in or out of the country after a disaster like that. But why does he have to attack someone who brought up God? I'm not real religious and rarely go to church but I hate to see someone get picked on just because they are religious.
I don't think its funny "double standards at its finest" when people are still dieing. Its not a thread about double standards. Maybe I shouldn't have come back on sleeper but the thread started out about how many people are presumed dead in Haiti, not to start an arguement because someone thanked God.

I don't know where everyone is getting that the U.S. is one of the only countries sending aid, in reading articles, i've seen the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Cuba, China, Luxembourg, Cuba, Iceland, Canada, Bolivia, Brazil, hell, even Venezuela is sending aid. And many others are mobilizing as we speak.
Of course the U.S. is going to lead the way, as we should, but get off your high horse.

Such a horrible disaster. Can't even fathom the chaos that is going on their right now.
I recommend everyone to put sleeper on their ignore lists. Seriously. If no one can read his posts and respond, then he will leave. Can't believe some people.

I don't think I've said the tragedy was a good thing, it's a horrific act that has killed many innocent people. Why did God let this happen? Sleeper, watch the news and see what kind of hell people are going through there now and in the next couple of days. It won't be pretty. Then imagine some of your friends or family even there and if your not praying to God, your praying to Verizon or Nextel.
If God gets the miracles, then God also gets the tragedies, you can't have it both ways is my point. So keep supporting the massive devastation by praying to the one who could have prevented it, I'll keep writing checks to the federal government knowing they are doing what they can to help the people of Haiti.

Sleeper, I don't know how to argue with you without making it seem like I'm attacking you. I reread my post to you and I apologize. I'm not trying to attack you. What I'm trying to say is this was a natural disaster or an act of God (depending on your point of view).
I just can't see how blaming God is going to make you feel better.

A Florida Gator football player is from Port au Prince. He was not able to reach his family for 28 hours, and had heard no good news. Finally, late Wed. night he got word his parents were ok. The house is gone, completely crumbled. A local tv station here had a telethon today for Red Cross donations. Haiti will need lots of help for the next couple of years.

Its been 72 hours. I just saw on the network news 5 of 7 people rescued at Hotel Montana were Americans. There is a Gator alum that was at that hotel when it hit and he is still missing.
This is the 4th night without water, food, or any necessities for them.
50,000 dead is stinking in the air.
The violence will start soon and police are nowhere to be found.
