That wasn't the suggestion. What was said is that we could upgrade at every position. He's not the best young prospect. But he probably is the best LT in the AFC

I would be very disappointed if Holmgren and Co. felt a WR was the best choice at the current draft position. I would rather see them trade down and try to fill a few more needs first. If that can't be done, then CB or OL help would be nice.

Joe Thomas does not care what people say about him, as evident by his fishing trip during one of the biggest days of his life.
And no, he's not the best young prospect in the league. Remember last year? He didn't have a good year, at all. Though he did make the Pro Bowl, that was purely judged on his performance his rookie year...thats how the Pro Bowl works with lineman.

Depends, The Browns may have 2 first round picks and Bryant may be the best available at 7. So if that happens then I wouldn't be upset. I think Suh, Berry, McCoy, McClain and Haden should be targeted first though.

Its not likely that all 5 of them will be gone at 7...some offensive players have to get drafted some time. All I was saying about "disrespect" was not him personally but his ability. "His talents are disrespected by you" -- This is how it is used in a sentence.
Here is a "like" word we could also use to better your understanding. "Joe Thomas has been underrated by you"
You don't have to tell him he is bad personally to underrate nor do you have to tell him to his face to disrespect his talents on the field.

Actually, Thomas was fine last year. This year has been his down year. His first 2 seasons he was elite. This season, he stepped down a notch, but was still one of the best in the league.

^100% disagree..he was not good last year, their entire line last year was destroyed by injuries and Joe Thomas' value went down with it.

I don't understand why people are bickering. We all agree that Joe Thomas is an excellent LT and is deserving of his Pro Bowl selection. He will be the anchor of our line for the next decade if he stays healthy.

Yeah, there is no argument against Joe Thomas' ability or his performance. I'm gad as hell we have him.
And to say we need to upgrade at EVERY position is not true at all. Almost every position, but not all.

though i see the need for defense this season showed the that the offense is a higher priority and we all know Holgrem loves the O. That said, Dez is by far the best WR in the draft and i would be ecstatic to have him. Go watch a highlight reel of him, he would make every Browns fans forget about Braylon "The only thing i catch is Herpes" Edwards. The only thing that would make me feel comfortable passing on him would be if we try and get Vincent Jackson or Boldin in FA or draft Marty Gilyard or Benn in the 2nd round.

On a side note, I to have this mind boggling idea that Holmgren will go with offense as well for some reason. It's quite obvious we need a complete secondary overhaul with the exception of E. Wright. I also think the possibility still exists that Cribbs could be had for the right piece(s). Don't put San Fran out of the equation to hack up one of there 1st rounders (14th or 17th I think). I know many of you see this far fetched and I do as well, but we as fans look at this from a different standpoint....which is common sense. Some of the owners & GM's are truly jackasses when it comes to making a sensible trade. Holmgren does indeed love the O and I look for him to early and often especially with the "possibility" of a Cribbs trade. If this happens, I would hope he would atleast get 1 top defensive prospect within the 1st round.

I agree that Cribbs isn't untradable, even if he is the greatest KR of all time. A first round pick with another player (or draft pick) and they would at least have to consider the offer.

we will not be getting a first for Josh Cribbs. Lets quit that notion once and for all. However, what could possibly occur is something like this...
San Francisco gets Josh Cribbs, #7 (1500), 5th (38.5)
Cleveland gets #13(1150), #17(950), Ray McDonald.
If Cribbs was valued as that of a second round pick, he would be worth points wise about 430 right in the middle of the round, so as far as points wise here, its not too far off. They would technically be overpaying us to get him, not by much, but I think two first round picks are always better than one.

Its not a rule, or anything, but a lot of football people use it as a GUIDE for what they should be asking for in trades.
Pick 5 is worth 1700, 17 is worth 950, 49 is worth 410. That's one of the reason some people were upset when we traded down with the Jets, because for the total package we got, we actually didn't get a complete even deal.

Each pick in the draft is assigned a certain value, by almost all teams, if not every team. And they all use pretty much the same formula. So when it comes to trading players/picks, most teams try to make the points as evenly matched as possible when doing a trade, which is why a lot of people are saying getting Cribbs for a #1 straight up, just isn't feasible.
