My girlfriend and I finally did it tonight!!!! It was awesome!!

Yep... we Skyped for the first time together!

There was some delay in what we were doing, but after a while we got into the whole flow of the motion. It was very cool, especially with her living 3 hours away.

Serious question here... to anyone who knows about Skype... Like I said, I've never used it before.

Is it common for there to be a delay in what you hear and what you see? There was a good 3 to 4 second delay in when she would say something and I saw her talking. She said that there was no delay on her computer with me talking.

She has a verizon USB wireless connection with an HP laptop and I have T/W Roadrunner with an Apple Airport using a Macbook.

It just seems strange that what she saw/heard was synced up but what I saw/heard wasn't synced.

When I first got a web cam, I tried using it with some family out in Cali. We could not figure out Skype, and instead with with yahoo IM. The video chat on that app, works nice. Just alittle easier to use.
