On a raft in the Pacific Ocean, he's collected fresh water but it's full of bird droppings and it's rancid. Drink it and you risk all sorts of bad stuff.

But there is a way of using it, but only as a last resort...

i guess he is a total fraud across the pond. i talked to a few guys from over there and this show happend to be on the tv and they just started laughing at him and saying how no one there likes him and some of the stuff he says about his background isnt true and stuff.

I'm not sure if anywhere it actually says its a reality show? It's entertainment, not real at all.

While parts of the show have been found to be stage, I'm pretty sure Bear's background information is accurate(special forces, climbing Everest, etc.)

oh these people didnt deny he was in the british special forces, but he wasnt one of the most out standing members.(and they had first hand knowledge). they also said he was involved in some scandals over there too. he isnt well liked among the british is the vibe i got from these guys.

Les Stroud may be a "tougher" guy. But his show is painfully boring. Give me staged and informational stuff while moving through areas any day over what Stroud gives me.

Bear is ten times better than stroud. His shows you how to survive/escape. Some things are set up to show you what to do. They state this at beginning of show. They don't try to hide this.
