I just got a price sheet to the local rec center and it's pretty depressing. I would have to pay non-resident fees and it would be upwards of $50/month. Unless my stepdad can buy it for me (he works in that town and pays taxes there) I am thinking it's a no go. It sucks because there really aren't many gyms near here and the ones I've seen aren't very nice. At this point I think I am going to buy an aerobics membership for one month to see if I like the classes they offer and go from there.

I got mine for $20 a month. I go to a Powerhouse Gym and it is awesome. What city are you in? There are a few Powerhouse locations around northeast Ohio.

Pay $49 a month at Urban Active in Columbus (huge mistake) and now I'm at a community rec center for $17 a month with a 6 month contract.

Free with being a student at BGSU. But, I graduate next month, so will have to figure out where to get a membership at.

I don't pay anything. My g/f is a personal trainer at Fitness 19 and they take it out of her savings account (havn't done it once). I also got the student rate, even though I'm not a student anymore. I think I'm supposted to be paying $12. Never had to pay the upfront fee either.

Some of these fees are outrageous. Just do like Rocky and lift heavy rocks and run thru the snow.
