[INDENT]A thread on QB sneak that failed ... Hue Jackson gave the sneak option if DeShone Kizer was sure he could score. Kizer thought he could. Clearly was wrong.

Wow, fuck you Hue. A sneak from 3 yds?

Anything that wasn’t a pass in the end zone was unacceptable.

I don't frequent the OBR as much as I used to but there's also a big ass "rumor" thread over there about "big news" about to break regarding Peyton Manning & the Browns. Speculation is that he's being offered a VP + ownership stake and he's "mulling it over." The guy who supposedly started this rumor has some connections and it sounds like Browns beat reporter Daryl Ruiter may have heard something too with his "help is on the way" tweet.Commander of Awesome;1881567 wrote:Very interesting. It just says Peyton, doesn't specify if it's Manning or Hillis. Could be head of security.BR1986FB;1881596 wrote:I don't frequent the OBR as much as I used to but there's also a big ass "rumor" thread over there about "big news" about to break regarding Peyton Manning & the Browns. Even with the talent and winning attitude he is still 6'2"Commander of Awesome;1881357 wrote:Coming into tonight opposing QBs had completed just 49% against TCU's D. Baker Mayfield hit on 67%, threw for 333 yards & the OU offense put up 533

I actually think he's closer to 6' than 6'2". Doesnt change the fact that he's the best QB in the draft.Verbal Kint;1881599 wrote:Even with the talent and winning attitude he is still 6'2"

Scott Dryden‏ @BrownsScout 2h2 hours ago Breaking news: Peyton Manning has bought 53 houses in or near Cleveland. He has vowed to work past 5 - will use only PFF for everything - including bathroom breaks. PFF will email live grades of all players for coaching decisions. No HC needed. #Browns

I'm still waiting for them to come from a reputable source. Like a bum in DT Cleveland.

Russell Wilson is listed as 5'11". Drew Brees is listed as 6'. Aaron Rodgers is listed as 6'2".Verbal Kint;1881599 wrote:Even with the talent and winning attitude he is still 6'2"
Those guys are all fairly good at the quarterback position, no?

We listing outliers and exceptions, let's also mention Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round.wildcats20;1881822 wrote:Russell Wilson is listed as 5'11". Drew Brees is listed as 6'. Aaron Rodgers is listed as 6'2".

Someone brought up Mayfield's stats and you immediately said he's 6'2".Verbal Kint;1881843 wrote:We listing outliers and exceptions, let's also mention Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round.
Height doesn't matter one bit if you can play.

I would disagree, moving from NCAA to the NFL where the majority players, not just a few, are bigger and stronger, more times often than not, size (& speed) matters.wildcats20;1881848 wrote:Someone brought up Mayfield's stats and you immediately said he's 6'2".

Is he one of the few outliers that overcome size and not the next Colt McCoy or JFF? Whoever drafts him hopes so.

Colt McCoy sucked in the NFL and wasn't because of his height. And anyone who watched JFF aimlessly run around and heave the ball at A&M knew he wasn't a pro QB.
If Mayfield succeeds in the NFL it will because he is talented. Not because he is a certain height or not.

If there are 32 teams in the league, there are 32 starting QBs and 32 back-ups with a legit shot to play because of injuries or benching (not counting a team like Cleveland, which has given three guys playing time in the hopes of finding one that's semi-competent). A lot of teams don't have 1 quality starting QB, let alone two, so when you say that 3 of the ones actually considered good are 6'2" or under, I'd have to think that is too high a percentage statistically to be simply called outliers and exceptions.Verbal Kint;1881843 wrote:We listing outliers and exceptions, let's also mention Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round.

Peyton Manning bought a focus from Libery Ford in Solon, Maple Heights, Parma Heights, Brunswick, Vermillion, and now Canton.

Gipson is pretty butthurt the Browns let him go and basically guaranteed a win and a shutout by the Jags defense this week.
Way to go asshat...that leads to the browns being the LOCK TO WIN this weekend, Ya heard it hear first.

2 quality NFL QBs are under 6'2", which come combine day, will Mayfield reach that height?Heretic;1881852 wrote:... too high a percentage statistically to be simply called outliers and exceptions.
For percentage, how many quality QBs we using? 15? 20?
If the Browns draft him and he overcomes the size difference, great.
He does appear to have a nice high arm angle with his release. Hopefully that helps him adapt.
I am not against, I am just cautious.

Actually, none of this conversation matters, the Browns will trade back to draft Sequon Barkey at 3 or trade back to the teens and take a DL.
