Maybe. I stand corrected if so, but Goodell can still go fuck himself lol.BR1986FB;1876724 wrote:I thought one of them was for testing positive for codeine (purple drank)? Thought he used the excuse he was sick or something?

My issue with the Gordon mess is that he started his career in step 2 or more instead of fresh like everyone else gets of the substance abuse program. Goodsell set him up to fail. That said, didn't watch the interview bc I dgaf about him and have written him off as never coming back, and personally thinks he's a dumbass and pos.

I agree. I understand picking your guy and sticking with him, but as BR mentioned earlier in this thread (I think it was this thread). When we're in the RZ I'm debating HOW he'll turn it over, not if we'll score a TD or a FG. The dude is abysmal right now and needs to sit.Mulva;1876721 wrote:Hue hasn’t done a single thing to indicate to me that he isn’t a terrible head coach, but I don’t fault this move. You can’t play an unplayable player. This is professional football, improve or sit your ass on the bench.

As a fan, this is just deflating. If it isn't him turning it over, it's the kicker shanking it. With the fact they can't seem to/don't want to try to run the ball in the RZ means Kizer's going to be slinging it around and I'm always expecting something bad to happen. The fact that Hue made the comment to the effect of "we're sticking with Kizer for the season" and now they're benching him pretty much shows me their lack of a vote of confidence for him going forward (along with Hue trying to save his skin).Commander of Awesome;1876761 wrote:I agree. It's almost as if you have to learn how to win games, by making those type of plays....BR1986FB;1876769 wrote:As a fan, this is just deflating. He wasn’t set up to fail, all he had to do was not take drugs.iclfan2;1876737 wrote:My issue with the Gordon mess is that he started his career in step 2 or more instead of fresh like everyone else gets of the substance abuse program. And this has been my issue with him all along. From that piece, it sounds like he's had issues most his life (upbringing, enabling?) but I just can't fathom how someone can't walk away from that shit to get paid. Granted, if his major issue was coke, maybe I can see where he's an addict but it was freaking weed. That's not addictive, it's a choice (btw....I think it should be legal and taxed like a mofo).Mulva;1876781 wrote:He wasn’t set up to fail, all he had to do was not take drugs.
I've made the comparison that if pizza or beer were my favorite pitfalls and someone told me they'd give me $60M over 4-5 years to stop eating pizza or drinking beer, I wouldn't be able to spell those items I'd give them up so fast. This isn't Goodell's fault. It's ALL on Gordon. Don't do drugs = get paid = your problems are solved.
Guy's just a dumbass.

In the "useless information" department, I know that Kizer is young but I heard a stat yesterday that floored me. Kizer has the lowest QBR this CENTURY. That's lower than the benchmarks for the word 'QB bust', Ryan Leaf and JaFatAss Russell. Ouch...

Mike & Mike this morning brought up a depressing question:
How many QBs would you take right now before choosing Carson Wentz?
Not talking about this year only, but this year and the next 10.
Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Dak Prescott,Russell Wilson?, Cam Newton?, Matt Ryan?
Rodgers luck and Dak for sure, but I’m not sure I wouldn’t take Wentz after those 3.
And to think we could have had him at our position at 2, and instead got cute and traded away for Corey Coleman and jabril Peppers. Ugh
(Note: I know it was more than just those two players, and I know that philly has a good D and a good coaching staff around him and blah blah blah. Doesn’t matter, we fucked that up BAD. )

Hard to argue we shouldn't have stayed put and taken Wentz. Esp the way Peppers is playing and Coleman enjoys riding the pine.SportsAndLady;1877217 wrote:Mike & Mike this morning brought up a depressing question:

Figure of speech. Haven't you ever heard the saying "can't make the club if you're always in the tub?"Commander of Awesome;1877245 wrote:He has a hand injury. Never heard of an ice tub for a hand issue.

Peppers has been exploited all year. Shouldn't be starting but our secondary is just that bad.

Our only hope is getting to Watson. Hopkins and Fuller will kill us all day.
