even if gb were in the market for a QB (they aren't), they'd probably gamble on romo over kaepernick

surprised the browns haven't brought kaep in. they have nothing to lose

It would get people to at least tune-in for the Anthem :)

Certainly doesn't get in his way that he doesn't have the baggage. Even straight-up, though, I'd take Fitzmagic over Kaepernick.
gut;1877906 wrote:Also I'd add that, as opposed to TO (who was just a clown), Kaep is actually someone in this day and age that could divide your locker room. Play ball - no one wants to worry about who's politics are what or being offended/tolerating someone who doesn't share your view.
From what I gather of TO's career, he REALLY divided the locker rooms he was in and caused notable in-fighting. It just wasn't over anything with gravitas. It was all pretty much ego.

As for CLE (and other teams with a similar QB situation) - you don't bring in Kaep just because your young QB is struggling. Kaep is not the future, he's a stop-gap. Bringing him in would be about the worst thing you could do with a young QB. You've made an investment in that guy, and you're going to give him probably 3 years to prove himself.

Sure, on the surface it looks like collusion (even if that makes little sense) and you could argue he should be 2nd/3rd string on just about every team, and possibly starting for even a few teams. But the QB position is different. Teams are looking for stability, a long-term solution.
I thought Green Bay could make sense. Rodgers will be back next season and resume where he left off, but what about this season? They're 4-2 in a division up for grabs. What if Hundley sucks and costs them to lose a couple games? What would they lose in giving Kaep a shot?

Edit: I see GB was already brought up. Carry on.

Fighting Back: The Rocky Bleier Story was an awesome made-for-tv movie. Pretty unbelievable. Found it on youtube - guess I have my weekend movie picked out!

He didn't really say anything new or revolutionary that hasn't already been beaten to death in this thread.

Today, 46 percent of voters have a positive view of the N.F.L. while 41 percent view it negatively, according to new Fox News poll. Four years ago, 64 percent had a positive view of the league and 19 percent were critical.

This is fun: Texans owners says "can't have inmates running the prison".

Apparently that is another form of the expression "inmates running the asylum", though I've rarely heard it that way. Can't wait for the SJW's to descend on the "inherent racism" behind using prison as opposed to asylum.

Another solid Sunday of getting projects completed around the house without the interference of NFL football. Working out real well.

Welcome to the club. I have been doing that now for years, just not for the BS political reasons you are.

If you don't think his comments were wrong, tone deaf, or in bad taste, I cannot help you.

They were, but anyone who somehow determines that the statement is per se racist needs to look in the mirror for the actual racist.

Hey! You found your safe zone so you don't have to be so triggered all the time. Now, all you have to do is not constantly tell everyone about how non-triggered you are. Well, unless being the right-wing version of a left-wing college student is your thing...

Respecting the flag and those who defend it and what it represents seems to be a helluva lot more noble than left-wing fascist meltdowns, at least to normal freedom-loving Americans.

Well, at least until you take what the protesting players say and either ignore their words or twist it to fit your agenda, sure.

Another solid post making sure people know just how much you aren't paying attention to the NFL you've posted about at least four times today.

If you were actually ignoring them, you wouldn't have posted this in the first place.

Wait, so a protest against those in authority and their use of force (whether you think it's justified or not) is fascist?

Do you know what fascism is, or are you just throwing the word out there because it sounds bad?

Your action of posting four times today about NFL players kneeling speaks louder than your words saying you're not paying attention.

I am not paying ANY attention to the NFL, along with millions of other people who are totally fed up with the jackasses. And I don't mind posting about it whatsoever, and it will most likely continue.

Take care.
