I had interested in the system since its announcement a while back but had never had a chance to play one. I was in Chicago a few weekends ago and had a chance to play one at my buddy's house and it sold me on the console. The portability is pretty great and the games we played (mostly Mario Kart) were a lot of fun. Mario Odyssey comes out in October and looks like a lot of fun.

Does anyone have the console? Or, does anyone else plan on picking one up? I know Nintendo gets a lot of crap for not having the best specs, graphics, and whatever else, but I really don't care about that as long as the games are fun.

I was pretty excited when we were looking through the games available to download and they have an updated version of Blaster Master from the NES, which was one of my favorite games growing up.

I plan on getting one for my daughter for Christmas. Waiting for Black Friday to snag a bundle deal on it. Plus they are out of stock everywhere.

Best Buy has them available online right now. I'll be curious to see if there are any great deals on Black Friday, but I'm not sure I'll wait that long to pick one up.

I thought I read a while back is they are stocking up for Black Friday. I'm sure Walmart will have a bundle with a gift card or something, same with target.

I've had one for a few months now. The portability is great, and honestly I got to the point where I preferred just holding it in my hands. Mariokart is super fun, but Zelda is probably the greatest game I've ever played. The entire game is just unbelievably fun, and takes so many hours to complete. Highly recommend it for anyone who gets a Switch. Not sure what games are still coming out but I do really like the system.

It looks like there is a new Metroid coming at some point, not sure when it's supposed to be released. Also a new Yoshi and Kirby title.

I have one, but fucked up the process.

The Switch and Zelda dropped on a Friday, back in...March, I think? Anyways. The week leading up to it I was really excited for Zelda. I wasn't anticipating getting a Switch at all so I planned on getting Zelda for my WiiU. I was afraid Zelda was going to be hard to find because Nintendo's new shit is always impossible to get. So, I preordered Zelda for the WiiU. The Thursday night of release week, a friend of mine was out and about and came across the opportunity to get a Switch from Gamestop. She asked if I wanted her to get it so I said sure. I couldn't return my copy of Zelda for the WiiU so I've had a Switch for months that's basically unplayable because of lack of games. I got Mariokart but I already had it for the WiiU and the differences between the two are minuscule.

I am very excited for Mario next month.

Blaster Master Zero is an awesome game if you grew up on an NES.

Heads up, if you're planning on buying the physical cartridge for Super Mario Odyssey you can get it through Amazon Prime for $48 (instead of $60). I went ahead a pre-ordered today.

Add me if you have Mario Kart. It's my only online multiplayer game so far.

Does Nintendo still load off a disk? I loathe PS4 for having to download everything.

You can download the games directly, or buy a cartridge for a lot of them. I prefer the download, but could only get the 20% discount on the Mario game buy pre-ordering the cart. The only problem is the system only has 32GB of storage, and you only have access to about 26GB for storing games. It doesn't take too many games to fill that up and you need to buy an expansion microSD card.

Madden is like 32G for ps4. It took a half hour to download the game just to get in and play an exhibition game. Then another hour to download the rest of the game once you are in.

Why does this exist in 2017? It bottles my mind.

I just took a look at the file size of the two games I have. Mario Kart is 6.8GB and Blaster Master Zero is 220MB. So I still have 18.8GB available.

That Sonic game I posted above is only 186MB. Zelda is 13.8GB. All of the cheap indie games are way less than a GB each. You can definitely put a bunch of games on the internal memory before needing to expand.

I bet Odyssey will fix that right up for you.
