Not all media info is worth paying attention to, though. That article you linked was from a Chicago douchebag who's been all over the place in the last 24 hours.

Exactly. When somebody with credibility like Woj drops a bomb, then we can probably take it more seriously.

No, not at all....but when most of the "bullshit" out there is that the Cavs management is "dysfunctional", after letting a GM who had constructed a roster that went to three straight NBA Finals, I'm not going to take it with a grain of salt. This dysfunctional label has been around for a while with them but most of it has been attributed to LBJ being passive/aggressive.

As you've said. it's a "bad look." Others might view DG's snap decision to release Griff, when he was still working the phones and had potential deals in place to build an opponent to match GSW's, as dysfunctional.

"Snap decision"?

A media article yesterday said that griffin has known for several months that this would happen.

Which one are you going to believe?!

If you hire someone learning as they go, it makes it very hard to get the right people. LeBron playing GM also makes this a difficult job for a first time GM.
I think that is the more concerning thing. Who will Gilbert hire as GM? Which GM out there can keep this Cleveland team better to win championships.

Not since lebron came back have I been worried about dan Gilbert.

If this has been known for several months, why keep him around? Let him go right after the Finals so the new GM can try to start making moves. If Griff knew he was gone several months ago, why is he still trying to make deals? Gilbert wouldn't have let him near any roster decisions if change was about to take place. Makes no sense.

Who is "most" though. You're getting overworked from people throwing shit at a wall and apparently it's sticking for you.

Here's Boston's version of the Chicago Sun Times article. I'm sure Washington and Toronto have a version, too. Whatever helps them come to terms with Cleveland curbstomping them for years now I guess.

I said griffin knew this was going to happen. Not the media, not Gilbert. Griffin.

He's still going to do his job until he's actually gone.

Also cavs players have come out and said that they absolutely did not tell butler to not come to the cavs, that the story is completely false

No surprise here. If you actually think about how dumb the article is:

1. Several players aren't going to admit to trying to recruit another player on while he is on contract. That is blatant collusion.

2. Why the fuck would cavs players go from "OMG come over we can win a title" to "ZOMG STAY AWAY!!!!" in the span of a couple hours?

Just pure garbage, and I wouldn't shed a tear if that guy gets fired.

Wrong. To be fair though, I've got nothing. Lebron is radio silent. Last time he was radio silent was when he left...

Sounding more & more like this Gilbert/Griffen breakup may have had a lot to do with money. Griff was making between $1.5-$2M and was asking for $6-$7M? What will be a real bad look is if DG hires Billups at that $6-7M. Worse look? A new front office guy, with no experience (Billups), turns Gilbert down.

No dice. Can't provide one when it was an interview with a national guy (Chris Broussard) along with a few others (discussing the compensation not the comments about Billups).

Amico saying the Pacers and Bulls were both asking for Kyrie in exchange for PG and Butler.

One of the local guys, Tony Zarella, who's better known for his local Browns coverage, is proposing they deal KI for Chris Paul. He also proposed adding Melo, assuming he'd come for the vet minimum. Part of the reasoning behind it was that it would give the Cavs a Big Four and LBJ might not have a temptation to leave to go join buddies if the buddies were here. I thought it was stupid but it seems like everyone is throwing crap out there now.

He should lose his job for proposing that.

No shit. I don't know how getting significantly older helps them beat the Warriors. I could tell the guys who were interviewing him were thinking "WTF?"

So with the cap ($99M) being lower than projected (anywhere from $101M-$108M), will this effect the Warriors ability to resign Iggy & Livingston?

Probably not. They will probably pay the warriors to stay there.

I know that the cap is lesser because of the way the Cavs/Warriors ran right through their competition (less revenues) but it's kind of convenient that when all of these teams will be trying to get into an arms race that they lower the cap, favoring the Warriors (competition can't spend as much).
