I actually did not get to ride it. Been to Kings Island twice and it was down both times. It was actually the one coaster I was thinking I might place it above Raptor, if I ever get to ride it.

This is the first I've heard of it but now I want to ride it. Everyone I knew at UK from southern Ohio always said Kings Island didn't have good roller coasters.

Well I just looked up the top roller coaster parks and KI is #3, so I suppose my friends were all dumb.

I legitimately thought riding the beast was a requirement to claiming your status as an Ohioan. The fact goon never heard of it almost made me have a heart attack.

Most people from NEO don't go to cincy on "vacation", so I don't see a problem with not riding it. Not hearing of it may be much. I'm pretty sure there was an R.L. Stine book about it which is the only reason I'd heard of it until I went to KI. Haven't been back since I was like 10, so can't compare it to the Raptor, but Cedar Point is a no brainer compared to KI so I can see why most people wouldn't get to ride it.

I love a good coaster, but no way am I heading to Kings Island over CP just for Beast. I went twice because I had off days at work covering Toledo teams in Cincinnati. But outside of Beast, nothing would compare. So, it makes sense if you're not from Cindy area you wouldn't ever even go to KI.

I don't think I've been to KI since the mid-90s. I think I've ridden it, but I'm honestly not 100% sure, lol.

KI is a good park. Not the best, but 6-7 awesome rides.

I've gotta get to cedar point. Never been smh.

Me either. Definitely one place I want to go before I get too old to enjoy roller coasters, lol.

And yeah, The Beast is an awesome roller coaster, especially at night.

Hotel BReakers and BReakers Express were both updated within the last two years. Recommend full day on rides and spend the half day in the water park. But fast lane plus passes to ensure you get on everything you want to in case of long lines.

The Beast is a classic and great. I think the Diamonback is the best coaster KI has.

If you are ever in Charlotte you need to visit Carowinds. It was bought by Cedar Point a few years back. I have riden and love all the roller coasters at Cedar Point and King's Island. Carowinds has a new coaster called Fury 325 and it is the best ride I have ever been on. They also just upgraded their water park section and it will be better than Cedar Point's now as well.

First of all, I agree with all of the hype for the Beast. It's a very unique coaster with its layout in the woods. It's not as thrilling today perhaps as it once was, but it is still a great classic. Outside of the Beast though, Kings Island just can't compare to Cedar Point. The park has greatly improved since it's Paramount days now that Cedar Fair owns it, but it is still a far cry from Cedar Point.

The coasters at Cedar Point are where your primary attention should be during your visit. However I strongly recommend several rides on Skyhawk and Maxair. With a Fast Pass, you can usually walk right on either. They are swing rides and both are fantastic.
