I believe books are generally better than their movies. But there are exceptions. Here are some of mine:

Forest Gump
The Godfather
The Shining
The Shawshank Redemption
Jaws

Good one. What a great film. The book was mediocre at best.

Game of Thrones. Books are boring AF and hard to keep track of characters.

I could go along with this. I remember reading the book and thinking how absolutely amateurishly bad Grisham's writing style was, even though the details were fascinating. Oh well, it was his first time writing, and he did improve on the later novels.

In general, I'm always disappointed in the movie if I read the book first, because I have it in my head how the movie should go. But if I watch the movie first, then it's more enjoyable to read the book and find out the additional details and plot twists.
