Spieth doing what Spieth does and Justin Timberlake is a lucky man. Hole in one and two chip ins.

Did JT actually get a hole in one today? Yesterday, he was super close.

Spieth winning out the gate isn't good for everyone else. He has the game to win almost everything

I know this isn't the beginning. In regards to PGA and televised tournaments.....its pretty much the beginning of the season for the average fan

Spieth hs had the talent to win everything for years, and can't even hold the top spot in the WGR. We know you hate Tiger, but Jordan is no Tiger, no matter how much you want him to be.

He doesn't have the distance and shot making Tiger did. But he is a more consistent player

The most recent I can find...February 2016

Jordan Spieth has 13 missed cuts in 79 events

Tiger 15 in 313.

Who is more consistent?

Cuts made:
TW 76
JS 65

Top 10s:

Spieth easily as a player in his round. Spieth is great because he is remarkably consistent on the course and rarely gets into bad spots while having terrific touch on the greens when he's really on. Tiger on the other hand had a tendency to spray more shots, yet his pure power off the tee and incredible shot making skills allowed him to have some ridiculous recoveries and to dominate Par 5s much like Jason Day to a lesser extent today.

It's why Jordan to me is such a fascinating player, much like Steph Curry in basketball. Both of those players do it by being technically the most gifted players in the game, while you look at guys like DJ, Day and Rory who simply can just overpower courses when they're on

Since Jordan is still in his twenties...

Tiger won 46 times in his 20s. FORTY SIX TIMES.

Jordan has 9 and turns 24 in July.

And don't give me the bs about the competition level. Tiger's prime would still dominate the tour today.

He would not dominate at nearly the level he did. The competition is really that much better than it was at the turn of the century right now.

I do agree with you, he is clearly better than all of these guys and was exactly what MJ was in the NBA. Not sure what S&L shook his head about, but comparing Spieth and Woods is like apples and oranges as they're so different in styles. Just look at yesterday, he hit 16 GIR and had a bogey free -2 round whereas Tiger would typically go 5 birds, 3 bogies. Spieth is so damn consistent and such a good putter he absolutely has a chance to win 50 PGA events in his career

There are 7 guys with more than 50 wins. Jordan is great, but will he have a better overall career than Phil, who has 42?

My answer is no.

I would be shocked if he doesn't. Honestly I'm saying 55 wins and 11 majors. Btw while we're having an all time conversation let's not forget that Jack is still the number one hands down

Tiger is the best iron player to ever live. He won a major without having a fucking driver in his bag, yet just overpowered guys. Ok.

Classy, were you old enough to ever watch Tiger, or is his greatness he stuff of legends to you? Spieth is so far from being as good as Tiger was it's remarkable...because he is probably the best now. Just shows Tiger was on another planet.

Why does anyone think I'm saying Spieth is better? I'm just saying he's a very different type of player, in fact he's Jack Nicklaus without the crazy length where Tiger could just overpower people.

That's what makes Jack so great though, he was a terrific athlete that had length similar to Tigers but played with Jordan's consistency. That's why I believe Spieth is going to be an all timer, he thinks the game incredibly for someone so young

He will be an all time great for sure. But that doesn't make him more consistent than Tiger. Maybe off the tee? Spieth was frankly not very good last year (compared to all time greats). I'd be curious to see where he ranked in tee to green stats and putting etc. Consisntency is he entire game, you can't just say more consistent cause he doesn't spray drives as much. The truest test is cuts made and then finishes, both of which he is nowhere near Tigers level. The claim he is more consistent is just anweird one by you, backed up by the fact he doesn't hit it as far?

He is also just under 300 yards. Not like he is short. Yet, only hits 65% of fairways, good for 47th on tour.

Classy most likely wasn't even born when Tiger won his first major.

You don't get it. I'm saying his golf game is more consistent. Tiger consistently was a better player obviously, but Spieth is the kind of guy who will go -4 with 4 birdies while Tiger would probably get 6-7 birdies with 2-3 bogies. Guys like Tiger and to a lesser extent Day, DJ and Rory have success by overpowering the course, Spieth does it through excellent course management, remarkably consistent contact, and great putting
