She also spoke at Bethune Cookman (HBCU) and the students boo'd, turned their backs, and some almost left. But I agree she is definitely the worst.

And I thought Trump's remarks at that graduation were wrong, too.
If no one wants to be subjected to political bullshit, the best way to accomplish that is to not have politicians (regardless of party affiliation) speaking at these occasions.

I mean, what sort of inspiration can they give our nation's youth? "If you become really, really rich (and good luck with that, what with all the loans you'll have to be paying off, amirite), you can use that money to buy your way into a big office and then sacrifice your personal views and opinions to completely align yourself with BIG PARTY VALUES, likely screwing over the people you allegedly represent somehow along the way! JUST LIKE US!!!!"

Agreed. No shortage of "inspirational" people from other walks of live to choose from.

They like to have successful people speak with name recognition. Politicians are generally successful people, even if not necessarily financial.

And their speeches don't have to be political, and shouldn't be. It's not a campaign event. But I completely disagree they have nothing inspiring or sage to share.

Well for starters you take fringe ideology like antifa and apply it to the majority of liberals so you can pound your chest about how awful the party is. No surprise here, this is the Fox News playbook and has been for years so tell me more about your libertarian thinking.

If the shoe fits. You can't equate antifa with Donald Trump when antifa isn't in the White House and Trump is.

Trump is the GOP, sorry!

? I'm not sure what that means. My point is that the left doesn't get to equate the right to the KKK and then have a problem with Antifa being equated to the left. Neither has to do with who is in the White House.

The left doesn't have to go to extreme groups like the KKK to find abhorrent and regressive ideology within the party. Just look at the current GOP President, elected by the people and by the party.

By the time one graduates from college they should have matured to a level where respect for others is commonplace, regardless if you happen to disagree with them politically, and you will act accordingly. Doing otherwise merely points to the fact that those who walk out are little more than spoiled, immature, brainwashed brats.
Right. I'm sure if you were alive in the 60's you'd be telling MLK to protest in an appropriate manner by writing a letter to the newspaper.

Conservatives should be applauding these students for exercising their 1st amendment rights. People walked out on Obama all the time and no one even cared; not even Obama. You're brainwashed, but you knew that.

Except bringing up people walking out on Obama doesn't fit the far right's narrative. Or Trump's number of golf rounds. Or Trump welching on promises. #nothingtoseehere

Trick question.....no one knew because it never hit the MS , if it ever happened.

I find one reference to a GOP senator walking out of the National Prayer Breakfast in 2012 due to BHO's reference to 'partisan politics' in his speech......otherwise, crickets.

Could be that those who were in opposition to what BHO was doing were generally respectful enough of the office to stay put.

Decorum is lost.....

Spineless? No, it's a sign of respect in that culture. I just find it funny that the Fox News contingent is silent on this while they spent days railing on about how much of a chump Obama was for doing the same thing.

They aren't equivalent. Very few media outlets are covering this with WaPo only covering it in relation to Trump's hypocrisy, not Fox News' hypocrisy.

Christ, you are dense.

Sleeper's as good at making the left look like insufferable whiners as QQ is at making the right seem like deranged blind partisans. I'm actually impressed because I know that can't be an easy feat.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Nevertheless, it's seems rather stupid to spend the days of you life crying because I switched political viewpoints over time and then also complain that I am ideologically brainwashed.

Which is it?

I'll take this as a compliment even though these are none of my intentions. My intentions are to engage in reasonable and informed debate with the people of my home state. The problem is, none of you have shown any interest or intellectual capability to participate, so I drop to the LCD and shoot the fish in the barrel.

I enjoy it more than I should.

Neither. If you want to dedicate all this time to being an insecure caricature, more power to you. It just brings the lulz to poke holes in all of your flawed logic, by using your own logic/words.
