I could possibly help with Twitter. It's the only social media I use, and when I travel (200+ days a year), I'm on it constantly.

Sounds good to me...I'm on FB more but Twitter is definitely in my rotation of the 5 main things I check when surfing the web. When Justin fixes whatever my issue with the password is I'll recommend to give it to you as well.

You should have facebook permissions now, I added you as an editor to the page. I'm not sure what is going on with twitter. Does the app you are using not allow multiple accounts? I just logged in through the website with no issues.

Also, can we bring negs? Not on wed either. Maybe limit it to 2 per week or something if we want to roll it out slowly.

If we are trying to entice and/or encourage new member participation, I think that "negs" are a terrible idea. Letting someone know that you disagree with their opinion (without having to say anything) is the easiest way deter people from posting.

Give new members a 4-6 month grace period where they can't be negged. Also, not sure if it is possible, but if negs are used we should have to provide an explanation.

I agree that negs are a bad idea, especially if we want new members on here.

If most agree that we should have neg reps, then as like_that said, I think an explanation should be required.

I don't know that negs would be a big deal to most people. On the other hand, disagreeing with an unpopular opinion by putting the poster "on blast" for three, four, five pages is probably not a way to keep new friends (and I've been guilty of joining in). If it's one or two people, a thread ban could be effective. If the thread's gone entirely to crap, just close it and move on.

i think the Negs idea would work, but only on a per thread basis.

Like if in the middle of this thread, i post something beligerent you can't neg that post, but if i started a beligerent thread you could neg the thread and kill it.

I'd consider dropping the function altogether. Someone comes here, and any regular member shows as full bars/fuckton of positive rep, not useful.

Even if you reset everyone to zero and add negs, as has been discussed, this board is never going to get any sort of massive wave of newbies that's going to care about the reps of the veterans (it's just the nature of message boards, they're a dying breed), and the core group already knows who the assholes are

Another idea I came up with (shout out to me), but how about reviving an old thread every week? Pretty much a throwback Thursday. Bumping up the 2011 NBA draft and lottery threads brought a lot of lulz. It's also cool to look back and to see how much has changed since then. I think a throwback day would be a much better feature than the arbitrary HOF that never took off.
